Initially, the first ten minutes went in and out of the Adelaide Thunderbirds way.
Though, the Giants did use the Rebel Power 5 and Suncorp Super Shot wisely.
Joan Harten provides the credit upfront from outside the circle.
Despite the Thunderbirds’ strong start in the attack, it’s the discipline in defense that has held them back.
The momentum that the Thunderbirds built in the beginning did revive earlier in Stage 2.
The rolling subs they use this time saw them improve the finishing and tighten the defense they lack earlier.
Half-Time: Giants 27-33 Thunderbirds
The promotion of Kiera Austin at Goal Attack helped Joan Harten eat up some of the Thunderbirds’ lead.
But the Thunderbirds’ frontline remained unchanged that fired back in the 2nd stage without much of the discipline conceded.
Going into the 4th & final stage, the Thunderbirds lead the Giants by six points, 45-39.
Nothing much had changed when the Giants failed to bounce back despite encouragement in the attack.
Again, the Thunderbirds’ all-round presence on the court saw the Giants struggle with the discipline & in defense.
Full-Time: Giants 51-59 Thunderbirds
