2020 Suncorp Super Netball, Round 4: Collingwood Magpies v West Coast Fever Game Debrief

The West Coast Fever fired off nicely with the impressive work upfront from Alice Teague-Neeld & Jhaniele Fowler.

For the Magpies, the ill-discipline may have fallen back, but they too have netted in points in Stage 1.

Nothing much has changed going into Stage 2 with the Fever still stayed ahead of the Magpies by a few points.

Though, the Fever needed to be a bit sharper at the back if they were not to throw away the lead.

The Magpies struggled with the ill-discipline at times, but the continuous shots into the goal are still there.

HALF-TIME: Magpies 29-37 West Coast Fever

Again, nothing much has changed going into Stage 3 with the Magpies still netting goals.

They may not be far behind on the scoreboard, but the Fever have altered the rolling subs wisely to stay ahead.

In the end, the Magpies exposed the Fever’s struggles with the finishing.

The Collingwood based Netball side got over the Fever’s backline with some gaps having led for the first time.

But the Fever fired back upfront that denied the Magpies late win by a single point.

Once again, it’s a close thriller of this matchup.

The Magpies can match the Fever’s finishing upfront and does the backline.

But again, it’s the discipline the Magpies may have to work on a bit sharper next time.

For the Fever, their defenders felt relived to survive this afternoon thanks to Courtney Bruce.

If it’s not for her, the Fever would’ve gone down & credit to her experience behind the opposition goal zone.

FULL-TIME: Magpies 62-63 West Coast Fever
