The Adelaide Thunderbirds looked confident upfront in the first quarter.
Despite the early hiccup from Shamera Sterling in Goal Keeper to rest her ankles, the attacking half remained unaffected.
For the Melbourne Vixens, they are not too far away as their attack does match the Thunderbirds.
Defensively, they too will add some steel if they want to catch up ahead of Stage 2.
Nothing much changed for both sides, which continued to add points upfront while beefing up at the back.
The Thunderbirds still hold on that narrow lead by four points at the break.
HALF-TIME: Thunderbirds 24-20 Vixens
The help of Liz Watson at Wing Attack for the Vixens caught up the scoreboard.
Her presence helped Caitlin Thwaites, and Tegan Phillip shoots accuracy into the goal.
For the Thunderbirds, their defense still looked spot on to deny them at times as this game is not over yet.
Both sides are 36-36 apiece going into the last 15 minutes.
In the end, the lack of finishing from the Thunderbirds where they lost the last three quarters alone cost them.
They couldn’t overcome the free-flowing Vixens attack that sealed them the win.
FULL-TIME: Thunderbirds 43-49 Vixens
Despite both robust defenses, it’s a low scoring game where each of them will end up as one winner.
While the Vixens stole the Thunderbirds’ marches, what an end of Round 7 on Tuesday and Wednesday Night Netball.
I can’t wait for Round 8 of weekend netball with six rounds left of this season’s condensed competition.
