2025 Australian Swimming Trials from Adelaide Days 4-6 review: Aussie Dolphins Swim Team all set for Singapore ahead of the next World Championships in late July

by Sports Benches

Hello Singapore, we’re coming!!

I mean those world championship goal medals that World Aquatics has got up for grabs ahead of the next one next month.

There were still lots more amazing and incredible moments over the last three days like Kyle Chalmers winning it all on his hometown soil in the men’s 100m freestyle and one-lap butterfly.

Plus, Mollie O’Callaghan based on her performances across the week-long trials  show that she can still cut it by winning both gold and breaking world record times at Worlds once again – watch this space.

So does Meg Harris who continues to never disappoint in the women’s one-lap freestyle having finished 2nd at the Paris Olympics as looks like this now be the time for Meg to go one better so she can claim elite status for a long time – just ask Ariarne Titmus and Kaylee McKeown!!

Oh don’t forget Lani Pallister in the long-distance freestyle races particularly in the 1500m timed race – who also smashed a new commonwealth record time on top of the national record time from the 800m race the other day – fantastic stuff.

Breakthrough individual World Championship gold medal potential coming up like it was with the short course version back in December 2022.

Now Arnie may not elect to return to the pool for the time being so she can recharge her batteries away from the pool over a year-long period ahead of 2026.

There’s the Pan Pacific comp to come next year for the first time since 2018, then another Worlds in 2027 as well as the all-important LA28.

Although it seems she’s also extremely talented behind the cameras too much like her news reading and journalist dad Steve.

Happy to see her play part of the Channel 9 swimming coverage though and sure she will still be there next month but as a pundit/studio analyst rather than a competing swimmer. Speaking of Nine, Roz Kelly just had her last day (for the second time) earlier this morning on the weekly Wide World of Sports program.

She’s always front and centre having hosted the big sporting events here and everywhere over the last few years as we wish her all the best travelling the world with her Proteas husband Morne Morkel & the two kids they’ve raised together.

Better still, I’m glad the Dolphins have a succession plan in not just developing the next crop of talent like 16-year-old Sienna Toohey + other female breaststroke hopefuls of Ella Ramsay and Tara Kinder.

Not only that, there’s also making the next best ones looking to stake their claim upfront hoping to win gold medals on their own – can’t wait!!
