2025 UEFA Conference League Final: Chelsea hit back Real Betis with a few stunning 2nd half goals where they were able to collect another piece of UEFA club silverware

by Sports Benches

Who would’ve thought how this year’s Conference League Final have played out when Real Betis led the 1st half 1-0 but then lost the plot and in the end, Chelsea finished the job that Betis couldn’t do including the 4th goal at injury time.

Too easy and too safe to say it was Chelsea’s night to win and not Betis.

Final score, Real Betis 1-4 Chelsea.

It wasn’t the night Betis wanted to see out after 95 mins even though their good La Liga performances (finished 6th) had already earned them a group stage spot in the Europa League for next season.

Sure, good start earlier on courtesy of Abde Ezzalzouli on the wide left (not sure if him being subbed was the best idea?) where Betis did their best to hold on their 1-0 lead…except the Final wasn’t over yet and just couldn’t find any other ideas to bounce back or even extend when it comes to the last quarter half distance.

It’s just not right tactically to not go all in and yet Chelsea didn’t hesitate to score goal after goal & it was disappointing for Betis to let that slip away with too much defense and little conversions by surprise.

Chelsea, meanwhile, found a way to settle the score, their good score with the most possession that blew Betis out of space.

There were goals coming from attack in between the midfield and front three forward line leaving Betis hung to try and it was one huge highlight for Chelsea to shut up shop for the win at this year’s Final.

Looks like Chelsea made the most of their chances inside the box more often and more wisely than Betis did all game with hit and misses being written all over it.

Now Chelsea became the first of team at being champions of every European club level competition from Champions League to Europa League, Super Cup and now the Conference League. Also, Enzo Maresca just won another trophy as head coach having first done it last season with Leicester City when they finished 1st in the Championship – hello there EFL!!

Other than that, he had no problem winning games for Chelsea where they ended up 4th this PL season – who knows if Enzo will be able to gift the Blues another trophy next time? There’s the Club World Cup in the US this summer and they will also be back in the CL this September.

And on Betis under Enzo’s mentee in the experienced Manuel Pellegrini who he knows from their time at West Ham (mid 2018- December 2019), the search for their first ever European trophy will have to wait next time albeit in the Europa League.

We’ve witnessed Ange gift Tottenham that Europa win last week v Man Utd as well as another English club winning another European comp this morning this time Chelsea. Although there might not be any English side still standing but can’t wait for the Champions League final this Sunday where Inter Milan will have another go against PSG at Allianz Arena in Munich.
