The GH festive holidays parties on a bit longer as 2025 is now out by ringing in with the new year of 2026.
We saw multiple couples and loved ones smiling and kissing in happiness together, even though things can be a bit dull or awkward at times. Plus, Sidwell’s quiet overarching influence of Port Charles never truly rested — watch how he and his ally Ezra Boyle begins circling on both Mayor Collins & her little grandson Ace.
As always, make sure you check out Sports Benches for your weekly GH edition once every weekend — keeping you updated for Aussie soap fans.

Not only that, our summer sports series continues with Test Cricket, with the 5th & Final Ashes Test to come between Australia & England at the SCG in Sydney starting tomorrow.
Look out for the next recap report sometime closer to next weekend.
Willow and Scout, what now for Alexis?
First of all, Scout spending the Christmas Holidays with her brother Danny was all we wanted to see, even if it’s a short spell.
It’s a shame Drew continues to put a no-go sign on Danny that’s legally allowed unfortunately — just because he’s like his father Jason.
What’s even unnecessary now is that Alexis points the finger at Michael when it comes to exonerating her client & Drew’s wife Willow Tait.
That would be a crushing blow for Kristina who wasn’t happy hearing this at all.
It comes after that opening attempt to exonerate her client on Portia were backfired spectacularly in last week’s GH weekly recap edition that puts Drew on notice for extortion charges.
It may be the only way to avoid lifetime punishment custody ban with the court hearing set to resume next week or maybe another depending if Drew calms down & actually sees it for himself (see below).
However, as it stands, Willow is still the leading suspect on the attempted murder of Drew Cain — if we look back again in betting terms.
Willow showed little to no emotion since she’s the bonus mom for Scout who continues to put Wiley and Amelia first over any guy on earth.
Sidwell v Port Charles, Take 2 or 3
Here we go once again! Sidwell being the talk of the town or GH’s silent lead influence right now if you like from taking over Sonny’s Piers with Helipads, shipping minerals & Helicopters to Faison’s final project and beyond.
He won’t spend a minute hesitating if one slips up or underestimates his “business” demands like Drew Cain for example.
Yes, they may be gotten on well at first when Drew sought some backers like Sidwell with his revised McConkey plan by pivoting at Sonny and Jason’s Piers instead of the original location.
But then Sidwell had other ideas once he pulled out financial support for that unsuccessful Measure C bill at one stage all because of Sonny settling the score with his son Marco.
If we fast forward now, that relationship seems to have broken down considering the public drama Drew has faced since he was shot back in September 2025.
While Drew may no longer be a useful resource to Sidwell, Sidwell also didn’t hesitate threatening that little boy Ace as a message back to his grandma Mayor (Laura) Collins.
No wonder that was so personal like he’s the wicked witch with Councilman Ezra Boyle also knocking on Laura’s doorstep & he too acted so personal.
You see Boyle playing around with toys instead of listening to Laura’s concerns? That was more like his own amateur hour but he was only serious enough to say anything since he’s Sidwell’s messenger.

Wish it was Boyle being Drew’s shooter who also sports that short & wild hair but then he’s not one of the main candidates that GH is writing out at the same time.
His fate though along with Sidwell & Marco? Maybe in another storyline where Jason and Sonny will be stepping in soon.
Love birds in the air as they ring in the New Year of 2026!!
Last but not least, glad to hear that so many couples enjoyed their New Year’s Eve plans safe and sound.
There’s Gio and Emma being stronger than ever before as the ideal GH young couple right now after Trina and Spencer and they both love music like Gio with the violin and Emma with the didgeridoo.
Looking at Trina, she sure has the arts and crafts as always. But don’t forget, she also that secret detective work she’s done with Kai Taylor for some time now.
The two of them would fit right like a glove into a late-night investigation report, as if that “Who Shot Drew?” storyline was shown in real life, especially in a graveyard prime-time slot on Fridays than Daytime.
Right now though, she has a lot on her plate since she wants nothing from her mom Portia — considering her long history of keeping secrets from people.
We also saw Cody help out Molly’s urgent last-minute assignment at ADA Turner’s office before they kissed and danced once again thanks to that “Princess Pie” puppy named Outback. Shoutout also to James West who came back to see his uncle who thought Cody was carrying someone injured but then she’s his new girlfriend.
If that streaking rule was still legal today and not until 1975, sure Cody wouldn’t think twice so he can go back to his previous life as a stuntman once again & not walk away with bills to pay lol.
Time or Money is the essence

Speaking of cost and money, luckily Jacinda was smart right there. She may not want that piece of jewellery that Michael gave to her as a gift but boy, she would rather continue to kiss him instead no matter the noise coming from his grandmother Tracy.
Same with Britt who is indeed struggling to keep herself afloat alone. Fortunately, she always has Jason Morgan looking out for her and they kissed each other once again to ring in the New Year of 2026.
And finally, Lulu and Nathan when Maxie is still currently recovering over at a Boston hospital following her cardiac arrest back in August 2025.
It will be interesting to see if Nathan is really someone else by the time he looks at Maxie again in-person for the first time in seven years.
Will this be Scary or Not? We’ll see.
