Australia vs Ireland was played on 31 October 2022, at the Stadium Brisbane, Australia. Australia was captained by Aaron Finch, and Ireland was captained by Andrew Balbirnie.

Before the start of the match, the toss was held between the two teams and Ireland won the toss and decided to field. It is very important to win this match for both teams to maintain their reputation till the semi-finals. David Warner and Aaron Finch came to play first for Australia while Joshua little bowled the first ball for Ireland.

Australia

In the first over, the Australian batsmen scored 6 runs and the second over of the match was played by Mark Adair in which Australia scored 8 runs without any loss. B. McCarthy bowled in the third over for the Ireland team and got the win for his team by dismissing David Warner on the first ball.

Australia scored 14 runs in 3 overs for the loss of one wicket. At the end of 3 overs, the predictor predicted 171 runs for the Australian team. And thus, in the ongoing match against Ireland, Australia scored 34 runs for the loss of one wicket in 5 overs.

B. McCarthy dismissed Marsh on the first ball of his second over to give his team the second wicket. Joshua little got the third wicket by dismissing Glenn Maxwell and Australia scored 84 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 11 overs.

The Australian team scored 179 runs against Ireland in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, in which Aussie captain Aaron Finch scored 63 runs off 44 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 35 runs off 25 balls for his team. And 20 overs Ireland needs 180 runs to win.

Ireland

Shortly after the end of Australia’s batting, Ireland’s players entered the field, which were P. Stirling and A. Balbirnie. But A. Balbirnie could not play well for his team and got out for 18 runs but after some time P. Stirling also got out for 18 runs in 2.2 overs. After that, the responsibility of the team L.Tucker and H. Tector took over. But H. Tector could not stay in the field for long and got out after scoring 6 runs.

After the departure of H. Tector, C. Campher and G. Dockrell came and they too could not play a good role for their team and got out without taking any runs.

After five of Ireland’s players were dismissed, G. Delaney came in at number seven, scoring fourteen runs off ten balls.

As the match wore on, the competition became tougher for Ireland. On the other hand, the Australian bowlers tried to get Ireland out early and thus the Ireland team scored 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets in seventeen overs. Ireland needed 44 runs off eighteen balls to win.

Ireland had just 18 balls to complete their target. But they could not complete his target in front of the Australian bowler and the whole team was out by scoring 137 runs in 18.1 overs. Ireland suffered a defeat and Australia won by forty-two runs.

Summary

Australia’s Aaron Finch (63/44), Marcus Stoinis (35/25), and Mitchell Marsh (28/22) take turns playing for your team.

Ireland’s Lorcan Tucker (71/48), Gareth Delany (14/10), and Paul Stirling (11/7) take turns playing for your team.

After winning the match against Ireland, the Australian team got 5 points and placed second in its Super 12 group, while Ireland is fourth in its group with 3 points after facing defeat.

Well, we were hoping to have at least some play tonight between Australia v England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground but again Mother Nature ultimately won this game ahead of the two teams without a ball being bowled.

With that being said, Australia should not have to face any issues beating Ireland and Afghanistan to complete their Super 12 campaign. However, like Mother Nature, Australia will need some luck & pray that England lose to the Black Caps (New Zealand) on Tuesday.

That way, not only Australia can end up in the Top 2 Group 1 ladder, but they can advance into the semi-finals v India or South Africa in order to continue their World Championship defence on home soil.

For now, the Australian Opening and Top-Order will need to be at their best by scoring big, so they can come to a semi-final fully prepared to upset a giant like India as if their 2nd place finish in Group 1 was confirmed.

Meanwhile, their bowling has been okay on the other hand but again they will need to be up and running right & nail down early wickets from the very start. If not, they will have a hard time overcoming India in the semi-final and potentially throw away another Trans-Tasman showdown v the Blackcaps (New Zealand) for the big T20 World Cup Final at the MCG come Sunday November 13.

We love seeing some underdog teams upset the big nation Test sides so far in this tournament, as we can’t wait to see how the business end of the Super 12 group stages unfold going into this weekend as well as the entirety of next week.

It was an exciting day for the Aussies at Perth stadium as they were up for the challenge, not only to beat Asian Champions but also to recover their Net run rate after a huge loss with Kiwis. The pitch and conditions looked perfect for their pace attack.

Aussie captain won the toss and asked the Sri Lankan team to bat first. Unlike the New Zealanders, Sri Lankan top order came up with steady and slow start and they were able to get only 60 odd runs in first 10 overs. They were trying to up their gears but the consistent loss of wickets shorten their way to the par score as they were only able to get 157 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of 20 overs.

Ever reliable Pathum Nissanka was the highest scorer for Lankan Lions and Charith Asalanka made them get to a responsible score with his knock of 38 runs of just 25 balls. Five bowlers of Aussie line up chipped in with 1 wicket and economical Michelle Starc just gave 23 runs off his 4 overs by taking a wicket.

Coming up for the chase, Australians were trying to get there as soon as possible in order to up their Net run rate. It was not that easy with the quality of Sri Lankan bowling attack in the first few overs as David Warner was dismissed just for 11 runs by Maheesh Theekshana. Mitchell Marsh and Aaron Finch were also finding it difficult to time as Sri Lankans were doing their bowling and fielding well.Maxwell tried his best to get them out of trouble with 23 off just 12 balls before he was dismissed with a superb catch by Ashen Bandara. Aussies were struggling a bit again when Maxwell was dismissed when the score was 89 in 13th over.

After all Marcus Stoinis arrived to the crease and he had other ideas as he just threw his bat around to deliver an amazing knock of 59 runs off just 18 balls. He was hitting it to all the parts of the grounds as they were able to get it all done in just 16.3 overs which helped them to recover their Net run rate after what happened on Saturday night. Highest scorer for the Aussies was Stoinis as he showed again why he is one of the best power hitters in the world. Aaron Finch who was struggling all through the inning was able to be there at the end being not out and he was able to be the real backbone of the run chase irrespective of all the chaos.

This run chase was able to get the Aussie run rate improved up to -1.555 and it is very important for them to keep up with this momentum.Aussies will meet their Ashes opponent England on Friday and it will be a huge challenge again for them with the kind of performance English players were able to deliver recently. On the other hand, Sri Lankans will meet New Zealanders on Saturday evening where they will have to up their game and deliver.

Hopes were high with Aussie fans earlier in the evening, going on to the first match of the world cup with their arch rivals New Zealand on their home soil. Kiwis had other ideas as they were able to get a thumping win over the World Champs and completely disarrayed every prediction going on into the match.

Aussie captain Aaron Finch won the important toss and decided to bowl first in a beautiful batting surface on the Sydney cricket ground as he thought it would get better with the match going on. Going on into the power play, New Zealand openers did not waste a second as they stormed in by throwing out their bats to world class Aussie pace attack. Finn Allen and Devon Conway were able to build up a 56 run opeing partnership before Allen got out for well-made 42 by using just 16 balls.

Ever reliable captain Kane Williamson steadied the ship as he was able to get a partnership with Conway before he got out to Adam Zampa when the score board was 125. Glenn Philips and Jimmy Neesham finished up the job with their cameos of 12 runs and 26 runs without wasting many balls as score board showed exactly 200 runs for just 3 wickets at the end of 20 overs. It was all about the anchor of the inning, Conway who was able to get 92 runs of just 58 balls, which was able to make him player of the match at the end of the game.

On the other hand, replying to this classy performance, Australian Batsmen never got going as they were bundled out for just 111 runs as Kiwis were able to win by 89 runs, which gave them the ability to get a huge advantage by having a such a good net run rate which might be crucial in this highly competitive group A.

Other than the sweep shots of Glenn Maxwell which were able to make him the highest scorer for the Aussies by getting 28 runs, there were nothing much to talk on individual scores in the Australian line up. Highly experienced pace duo Tim Southee and Trent Boult were able to share 3 wickets and 2 wickets respectively as Spinning all-rounder Mitchell Santner made his presence felt with 3 wickets in his bag.

This was completely a surprise for many around the world as Aussie were coming up to the tournament as one of the tournament favorites. Funny things do happen in cricket and this might be an awakening for the Aussies who can still be a force to reckon in coming up fixtures.

Aussies will meet the Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka on Tuesday and it will be a good chance for them to bounce back after what happened already. However ,they should not underestimate any opponent in the group A as they need not only to win, they will have to win big to stay in the competition.

Talking about Kiwis, they should be grateful with this win but still there is a huge mountain to climb as they move towards their first ever world cup hopes. New Zealand will meet Afghan blue tigers on Wednesday, which will be a good opportunity for them to steady their position on top.

Well, it has been a while when watching white-ball International Cricket on Free TV, but Australia’s 2022 T20 World Cup campaign defense kicks off tonight at the Sydney Cricket Ground v New Zealand aka Black Caps.

And the Nine Network is onboard once again alongside Fox Cricket as the ICC’s Australian Free TV partner to bring you all the action with Australian games, a couple of other Super 12 games, two semi finals and the final to round off such a great next few weeks ahead of T20 World Cup on show.

I’m glad that Roz Kelly is onboard as the host who knows cricket so well, thanks to her husband who was also really good back in the his day with his fast bowling for South Africa in Morne Morkel. She also hosted Network 10’s Big Bash League coverage in the past before the rights were taken away by the Seven Network in 2018. But again, great to see Roz get the opportunity to present cricket on Nine after she came back here at the start of last year to host Rugby Union, Tennis, reading the sports news for Nine News Sydney (Fridays & Saturdays) and Sports Sunday.

It’s also good to see former Opening Batsman Mark “Tubby” Taylor provide his insights on the game once again as Nine’s primary cricket expert, even though they no longer hold the home summer matches anymore. But he’s still well liked here for over two decades since his retirement from the game, especially when he pops up on Sports Sunday for most of the year with Roz.

Although there isn’t any ex-Nine cricket faces currently hired on Seven and Fox Cricket these days following the tragic death of Shane Warne (Fox Cricket) earlier this year – as well as Michael Slater (Seven) whose life gone has upside down not long after Seven dismissed him over the past year due to budget constraints – but Nine will have two new analysts for this tournament in former spinner Steve O’Keefe and former batsman Callum Ferguson.

And oh, Michael Clarke may not have been picked up by Seven or Fox at all since Nine no longer airs the summer of cricket four years ago, but he will be on the world feed commentary nonetheless alongside Fox Cricket regulars in Mark Howard, Mel Jones and Adam Gilchrist.

It will be interesting to see what the cricketing community here will say about this commentary team in the next few weeks. I’m sure they will enjoy having a female presenting the coverage in Roz including Tubby and two fresh faces, before Nine will be back on the crease next year with The Ashes in England (Mid June-August) & the next Men’s 50-Over World Cup in India (October-November).

Then we’ll wait and see if Nine will get some help from Network 10 once the current domestic deal expires in 2024, so Nine can hopefully get Test Cricket back & 10 picks up the rest with the Big Bash & white-ball International Cricket – while keeping the Australian Open Tennis which has been working for them so well since they shocked Seven and the Australian sporting community in 2018/2019.

For now, enjoy the next few weeks of T20 World Cup Cricket. Plus, shout out to Ian Chappell who recently announced his retirement from commentary at age 78, after a illustrious spell for over a few decades following the end of his playing career with Nine and other International TV/Radio outlets.

Australia-Belgium

In the first singles match, Kübler managed to take his first set and break his opponent Bergs. Bergs then got back into the game and managed to win two breaks in the second set to level the match. In the deciding set, Belgian tennis player Bergs led 3-1, but Kübler won five games in a row and defeated Bergs 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. The match lasted 1 hour and 54 minutes.

The first Group C doubles match of the Davis Cup in Hamburg saw Australia take on Belgium.

The last time the teams of these two nations met was in 2019 in the Davis Cup finals in Madrid, when the Australian team won with a score of 2-1.

This year, Australia defeated Belgium in the doubles match by a score of 3-0 and went on to top the Davis Cup.

Australia – France

Australian tennis players Matt Ebden and Max Purcell managed to defeat the French duo Nicolas Mahut and Arthur Rinderknech with a score of 6-4 6-4.

Ebden said: “It was a great team effort and great to finish on top.”

Earlier, in the first singles match, France got off to a strong start as Richard Gasquet defeated Australia’s Jason Kubler 6-2 6-4.

Then, in the next singles match, Australian Alex de Minaur defeated Benjamin Bonzi 6-3 1-6 6-4 to level the tie.

Australia – Germany

In the 2022 Davis Cup round-robin tournament, the Australian team failed to defeat Germany as they lost the final doubles match in Hamburg. Although the Australian team is second, Australia will still go to the quarter-finals in November.

“The aim was to qualify here and the boys did extremely well this week,” said Lleyton Hewitt.

“I’m really proud of all the boys and the whole team. They prepared and did whatever it took to get the result we were after and we gave ourselves the chance we came here for. It’s good to get to the accommodation.’

The German duo of Tim Puetz and Kevin Kravitz took the win for Germany. The duo won 6-4 6-4 against Matt Ebden and Purcell.

Australia v Netherlands – 22 November

Team Australia will face the winner of Group D, namely the Netherlands, on November 22. The Australian team managed to beat Belgium and France but unfortunately Germany beat Australia in the end.

With a big draw looming, Hewitt was quickly asked about the availability of Australia’s top-ranked player Nick Kyrgios.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist has not played in Davis Cup since 2019 and declined two call-ups this year.

Hewitt is trying to lure a rejuvenated Kyrgios back into the squad and was quick to praise the players he had at his disposal during the group stages.

“I don’t know – I literally just walked off the court. I’ll try to figure out the best option going forward and give ourselves the best chance,” Hewitt said when asked if Kyrgios would play in the quarterfinals.

“But this week I couldn’t be more proud of the five guys here.

“I’m just excited for them, especially a couple of freshmen in Max (Purcell) and Jason (Kubler).

“For them to go through the experience of playing for Australia and wearing the green and gold, it’s not something you dread. This is a huge milestone in your career and you both did very well.

“I’m extremely proud of all the boys. We gave ourselves a chance. It’s nice to go through the neighborhoods.”

What a performance! What a match! What a tournament from Carlos Alcaraz!

In 3 hours and 23 minutes of epic tennis and gruelling rallies. 19 years old Carlos Alcaraz Garfia from Murcia, Spain won his biggest title in his young career, beating Casper Ruud who played his second Major final, in the final in four sets (6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3).

He therefore became this Monday, the youngest world number one in the history of tennis, breaking Lleyton Hewitt’s record, who became number one in 2001.

The most difficult path to the FIRST Grand Slam final?

Carlitos’ journey to the final was definitely, one of the most difficult ones in the last few years. He started his campaign with a straight-set wins in the first three matches beating Argentines Baes and Coria and Home favourite Jenson Brooksby.

Then, the journey got really hard. In the fourth round, he faced former champion Marin Cilic who is having a great season, reaching semifinals in the French Open for his first time. The match was gruelling, to say the least. It lasted 3 hours and 54 minutes and ended at 2.23 am, with the score of 6-4 3-6 6-4 4-6 6-4.

In the quarterfinals against Italian Next Gen Sinner, the tennis fans were all looking forward for an epic, especially since it was their third meeting in the year, Sinner winning both previous encounters.

Alcaraz looking to revenge his tough loss in Wimbledon, started really well and had his chances to lead by two sets to love. The missing opportunity could have gone hunting him, since Sinner won two tiebreaks, and lead by two sets to love, and even served for the match in the fourth set.

So many people compare Carlos to Rafael Nadal, especially in the fighting spirit and the never giving up attitude. Well, that’s what would save him, when he was down match point. Alcaraz didn’t let go and fought hard to win the fourth set 7-5,and then the match in the fifth, to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final.

The 6-3 6-7 6-7 7-5 6-3 victory lasted five hours and 15 minutes and was the latest ever finish in the US Open’s history.

The five sets epics wouldn’t stop there. Alcaraz then faced Frances Tiafoe of the United States. After losing the first set, he won the next two in easy 6-3 6-1. Tiafoe, with the help of the crowd energy, made an incredible save on match point and won the fourth in another tiebreak. But Alcaraz, who although on his third consecutive five setter, didn’t show a sign of fatigue, and finished the match 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-3 thriller to book his place in Sunday’s final.

“I thought it is a new match in the fifth set. I have to stay there playing, playing well, playing my game, and believe.” Alcaraz said.

Alcaraz vs Ruud: The highest of high-stakes

The 19-year-old, was now one win away from the championship. In the final, he faced Norwegian Casper Ruud. The match was not like any other Grand Slam final. The players were both playing for their first Grand Slam title AND for the World No.1 spot.

The native of EL Palmar didn’t take long to dominate. He broke in the 3rd game and won the first set 6-4. Taking advantage of his opponent’s dip in the second, Ruud won it 6-2.

In the third set, it was a battle. At 6-5, Alcaraz saved two set points, and went on to win the third in the tiebreak (7-1). He then showed big domination with his aggressive game, controlled his nerves, and served for the match like a champion. He won 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 in 3h23 of play, becoming at the top of the tennis world and winning his first of many Grand Slam titles.

Swiatek’s incredible achievements this season are still going on!

Although she suffered a couple of losses after her incredible winning streak of 37 matches, including a bizarre loss in Wimbledon third round against French veteran Alize Cornet.

The Journey to her FIRST US Open Final

The 21 years old Swiatek entered the 2022 US Open as a slight favourite, she won the first three matches quite easily, beating former US Open champion and crowd favourite Sloane Stephens in straights sets. Then, in the round of 16, versus Wimbledon quarterfinalist Niemeier, she found her rhythm after a tough start, and rolled into the quarterfinals of the US Open for the first time.

“I’m just proud that I didn’t lose hope,” Swiatek said. “I had a hard time pushing her back. I’m pretty glad it worked. I used my experience to keep my level the whole match.”

But her toughest battle would be in the semi-finals when Iga fought back a 4-2 deficit in the third set to beat the Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 2-hour, 11-minute epic on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Swiatek vs Jabeur: the first US Open women’s final featuring two top-10 players since 2013!

In the final, the stakes were very high for both players. The Polish world No. 1 had won eight straight finals and hasn’t dropped a set in all of them. On the other hand, Tunisia nsensation and No.5 seed Ons Jabeur has become the first African and Arab female tennis player to reach the finals of the US Open, and was seeking to become the first tennis player EVER from North Africa to win a Grand Slam championship.

The final didn’t start as a high-level tennis between two of the best in the world. In the first set, Swiatek showed why she’s the game’s best returner. She put back all 19 of her returns in play, this against a great server in Ons Jabeur. Therefore, she broke three times in the set and won it 6-1.

Jabeur’s response came in the second set, starting to get chances on her opponent’s serve. Still, Swiatek broke for the third straight time. With some pressure and nerves of the victory, Swiatek’s level dropped and Jabeur broke back. The set would then go back and forth between the two players, until the deciding game.

In the tiebreak, it was tight and the margins were very low. It was also Swiatek’s first tiebreak in a final.

Jabeur clawed to lead 5-4 on serve. But then Swiatek with a forehand winner down the line, and a tight forehand in the middle of the net from Jabeur. The Pole gets her first Championship point 6-5. The first serve goes long, and in the second serve Ons gets it back but then hits a forehand cross court long.

As the ball went out, Swiatek collapsed on the floor, realizing what she has just achieved. She became the first Polish player male or female to win a grand slam at Flushing Meadows, and she now has three majors at the age of 21 years & three months.

Carlos Alcaraz breaks Frances Tiafoe and is in the US Open final against Casper Ruud

Young Spanish talent Carlos Alcaraz secured his place in the final of the US Open.

The world No. 4 seed won semifinal #2 at the US Open, after prevailing over American sensation Frances Tiafoe 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, 6-7, 6-3.

Thus, in a dispute for the title, the Spaniard will meet the Norwegian Casper Ruud.

At the US Open, it was the third consecutive victory for the Spaniard, which came after a 5-set battle. He was successively defeated in 5 sets by Marin Cilic (Croatia), Jannick Sinner (Italy), and a few minutes ago Frances Tiafoe.

For both Alcaraz and Ruud, it can be said that they definitely deserve to be in the final, which will start tomorrow around 23:00 European time/7 am AEST. Ruud prevailed with a 3:1 set, with which he showed decisiveness, and Alcaraz won his sets in a much more decisive way than Tiafoe.

For Casper Ruud, this will be his second Grand Slam final, after this year he was a finalist at Roland Garros, where he failed to put up any resistance against Rafael Nadal and lost to him.

Carlos Alcaraz reaches a Slam final for the first time.

Alcaraz and Tiafoe played out a very intense, high-level duel that ultimately kept the Spaniard’s chances of reaching the top of the men’s world rankings before he turned 20 years old.

Alcaraz had a match point in the fourth set, but World No.26 Tiafoe managed to send the match to the fifth set.

Despite playing a third straight 5-set match, Carlos Alcaraz showed no signs of fatigue and set up a meeting with tournament fifth seed Casper Ruud in the final.

The winner will claim a first Grand Slam title and top theworld rankings.

Jabeur and Swiatek go to battle for history

We’re in the final stages of this year’s US Open, and the women’s and men’s titles will be decided this weekend. Today we will have the honor of finding out which tennis player will be able to lift the title in New York, with the two contenders to do so being the leader of the rankings Iga Swiatek and the world No. 5 Ons Jabeur, for each of whom this will be a debut appearance in a final at th eUS Open.

World No. 1 and No. 2 in the WTA rankings go head-to-head for a historic trophy. Both Poland, represented by Iga Swiatek, and Tunisia, represented by Ons Jabeur, do not have a US Open title, which makes tonight’s clash even more interesting. The continent of Africa didn’t even have a female finalist until the appearance of Jabeur.

It will be the second appearance for both players in a major final since the beginning of the year, after the Pole triumphed for the second time at Roland Garros in June, while the Tunisian suffered defeat in the clash for the Wimbledon trophy a month later. So far, Swiatek & Jabeur have faced each other a total of 4 times, exchanging two wins each. The upcoming meeting between them will start after the end of the women’s mixed doubles final, starting no earlier than 23:00.

The statistics between the two are equal – two successes each. In their first match, which took place in 2019 on hard court in Washington, Swiatek achieved a difficult success (4:6, 6:4, 6:4). At the 1/8 finals of “Wimbledon” last season, Jabeur got his revenge with a 5:7, 6:1, 6:1 victory. At the tournament in Cincinnati a little later in 2021, the Tunisian was even more decisive – 6:3, 6:3. This year, the two met in the final of the competition in Rome, with Iga leveling the series after a 6-2, 6-2 success on her favorite clay.

On paper, the Pole is the clear favorite. The 21-year-old competitor, born in Warsaw, is having a phenomenal season. So far this year, the world number 1 has won 6 trophies, including a title at Roland Garros, and tournament victories in Miami, Indian Wells, Rome, Doha, and Stuttgart, registering 50 wins and only 7 defeats until the start of the most prestigious tennis competition in the USA.

On the courts of “Flushing Meadows” in Queens, the Polish woman got off to a promising start. In her first three matches, Swiatek recorded emphatic victories over Jasmine Paolini (6:3, 6:0), the 2017 champion and home representative Sloane Stevens (6:3, 6:2), and another American – Lauren Davis (6 :3, 6:4). In the following matches, after losing the first set, she eliminated Julie Niemeyer (2:6, 6:4, 6:0) and the 8th seeded Jessica Pegula with 6:3, 7:6, and in the semi-final she also defeated the 6th seeded Aryna Sabalenka (3:6, 6:1, 6:4), demonstrating great character.

Success for her in the final will mean a more than double difference in points between the first and the second after the update of the world rankings – Swiatek will be with 10365 points, and the second – Jabeur – with 5090 points.

For her part, the Tunisian is fighting for new records for her homeland. After becoming the first African woman to win a WTA 1000 title in Madrid this season, Jabeur now has her sights set on becoming the first African women’s Grand Slam champion.

Her way to the final went with two-set victories over Americans Madison Brengle (7:5, 6:2) and Elizabeth Mandlik (7:5, 6:2). In the third round, she met a serious rebuff from the 31st-ranked Shelby Rogers, but won 4:6, 6:4, 6:3. In her next three matches until the final, Jabour did not give a set to her opponents (Veronika Kudermetova, Alja Tomljanovic, and Carolyn Garcia).

Africa vs. Europe and Tunisia vs. Poland. Who will succeed Emma Raducanu to the US Open Ladies’ Throne? We are about to find out!

Ons Jabeur – Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4, 7-6 (4)

Ons Jabeur continued her strong showing at this year’s US Open and advanced to the semi-finals after triumphing over Ajla Tomljanovic. With this method, the Tunisian became not only the first representative of her homeland but also the first Arab tennis player to reach this phase of the championship in New York.

Her semi-final rival in the fight for a place in the final will either be Coco Goff or Caroline Garcia.

Jabeur posted more aces (4-1) and fewer double faults (2-9) while holding a substantial edge in winners (29-12). The Tunisian won 71% of her first serve points (22/31) and was absolutely flawless in her break options (5/6) until Tomljanovic converted four of her six breakpoints (67%).

Caroline Garcia defeats Coco Gauff in straight sets to advance to the semi-finals

She did it! Caroline Garcia advanced to the semi-finals on Tuesday night against Wednesday by beating local hero Coco Gauff (6-3, 6-4) in 1h 37min after a game of two parts: first sublime, then tenser, but finally perfectly controlled by “Caro”, who thus becomes the third French tennis player to reach the last four at the US Open, after– excuse me – Mary Pierce and Amelie Mauresmo.

Sabalenka beat Pliskova on her way to the US Open semi-finals

Aryna Sabalenka qualified for the semifinals of the US Open tennis championship. The representative of Belarus defeated 2016 finalist Karolina Pliskova 6:1, 7:6 (4) in 84 minutes.

The 24-year-old Sabalenka played hard and had three breaks in the first set. The Czech woman demonstrated a strong opening shot in the second part, which passed without breakthroughs, but in the tiebreak, The Belarusian won 7:4 on her second match point.

Aryna Sabalenka avenged her loss to Pliskova in the Wimbledon semi finals last season.

Iga Šwiatek eliminated the last hope of the hosts on his way to the 1/2-finals of the US Open

Iga Šwiatek became the last semi-finalist in this year’s edition of the US Open. The world’s No. 1 eliminated in the 1/4-finals the last representative of the hosts in the tournament, Jessica Pegula, after success with 6:3, 7:6 (4) in her favor and thus killed the hopes of an American triumph.

Mens’ Singles

Alcaraz- Sinner; Tiafoe vs Rublev
