Great game from Ash Barty today in the third round, as she advances through to the Round of 16.

A first set is there to begin with at 6-3, so easy for Ash to get ahead.

Although, great fightback from Katerina Siniakova after the break 5-5 in the 2nd set.

But she just can’t past Ash to keep this game alive when the World No.1 wrapped this game up in straight sets, 7-5.

Interesting next contest for Ash when she will face this year’s French Open women’s singles champion, Barbora Krejcikova.

One of the highlights to close out Day 1 of the 2021 Wimbledon Championship.

Andy Murray fired off with the first two sets, may have began to falter in the third by Nikoloz Basilashvili from Georgia. But even in the toughest of battles in the fourth set, Andy Murray found his way at least to advance into the 2nd round.

Well played to Basilashvili who began to hold him back after the 2nd set, just couldn’t find time to keep this game alive.

Final Score: 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3

What a comeback from Novak Djokovic! He was almost out of contention after being out during the first two sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas (6-7, 6-8 tiebreaker & 2-6).

But he never gave up until the very end and won back the next three sets himself (6-3, 6-2, 6-4) that confirmed his 19th grand slam crown!

Shows a lot of being such a true sport and pro from the Djoker.

And on Tsitsipas, he was almost there at one point with his terrific start of the big final. It was the first of these meetings coming from a 22 year old.

Although, he was unable to hold off Novak after the 2nd stage. But he can use this loss today in the hope of doing much better next time. As he has got a whole bright tennis career ahead of him so no rush.

Looking forward to Wimbledon now!

What a moment for Barbora Krejcikova who won her first grand slam title at the Roland Garros.

It was an easy first set win for the Czech 6-1 but Anastasia Paulyuchenkova bounced back in the 2nd 2-6.

That led to a close battle towards the finish as Krejcikova came home first 6-4.

Tough to see that lost coming from Paulyuchenkova, but it’s been 14 years to finally reach her first grand slam final. And never gave up so there is a few good moments coming her way after the French Open.

Onto the Men’s finals now later today between Novak Djokovic v Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The PGA Championship this past week will certainly go down in history as being one of the best majors the sport has ever seen. With Phil Mickelson becoming the oldest player to ever win a major at the age of 50, and others showing off their talents, this was certainly a historic event. Since the tournament Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau have caught some media attention for their interaction which only makes the tournament more fun. Today we will be taking a look at everything that you need to know about what went down this weekend!

Mickelson has always been a fan favorite, but prior to winning this tournament it had been quite some time until he had been in the running for a major championship on sunday. It had been eight years since his last major victory and two years from his last PGA Tour win in general. It is safe to say that not many people predicted this outcome before it had all begun. This is the second time that Mickelson had won the PGA Championship and earned the Wanamaker trophy.

In the end, he won with a total score of six under par, shooting one over in the last round. Due to shifting winds all day, those that teed off later in the day were at much more of a disadvantage. Others were able to put up scores of three under par for the final day which left two Irishmen tied for fourth, Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington. Besides that Brooks Koepka gave Mickelson his hardest time all week long, which still shocked people after the fact.

Koepka had been battling a knee injury going into the tournament which caused him to stand with a very goofy stance whenever he was going to line up putts. This knee injury also caused him to miss the cut at the Masters just about a month ago. With his previous poor performance and this injury, it is safe to say that expectations were low for him going into this week. However, you can never doubt Koepka when it comes to the Majors as his track record for these events is insane! Finishing in the top ten time and time again, if not winning the tournament, Koepka is one of the best golfers when it comes to the Majors, besides Tiger Woods of course.

Following the tournament Koepka and DeChambeau have gone viral for a clip of Koepka’s post round interview on Sunday. Koepka is in the middle of answering a question until DeChambeau walks by, at which point Koepka loses his train of thought and drops the f bomb, rolls his eyes, and is visibly upset/disgusted. The whole golf world is still trying to figure out if DeChambeau said anything or if simply walking by was enough to make Koepka mad. Either way it will certainly be interesting to see Koepka answer questions about this interaction later on.

No matter what, Phil Mickelson was the star of the show this weekend and rightfully so. Taking one away from father time, it has only further cemented his stardom.

This is moving day on Day 3 of the 2021 Masters at Augusta National. Where Justin Rose from England led the first two rounds. But scored 72 just like yesterday with no sign of rebound. He is on -7 under par in 5th/tied 2nd. So still possible to get that green jacket. Just cannot afford to make the same mistakes in Day 2 & 3.

Jordan Spieth did make the Top 10 today on -5. Having now sit in 7th. The form however is inconsistent. He can still end up in the Top 5. With a slow and steady build like yesterday. If he wanted the green jacket though. Then he has to push harder and come out from behind. Same goes to Brian Harman. He was in the front row during the 1st half. But then fell away with a less than expected score of 74. As he is on -4. Lots of catch up to do. While Bryson DeChambeau fell from the Top 20 to 38th. He is on +2 over par at a poor score of 75. So no chance of a comeback.

The biggest movers are Corey Conners from Canada. He is positioned as the underdog here. Thanks to a brilliant screamer on the 6th hole. Where sinked it immediately. And that puts him on -6 after scoring 68. So does Marc Leishman, Xander Schauffele & Will Zalatoris. All of them on -7. Just four shots behind the new leader in Hideki Matsuyama. The Japanese golfer may be 7th during Day 2 yesterday. He scored a brilliant run of 65 which puts him at -11 under par on Day 3.

Rain may have held back 1/2 hours of play. But at least we have seen a change of leader from Rose to Matsuyama. Just after the 1st half. While a couple have fell down the order. As we look forward to a final round decider tomorrow. Will Rose rebound from disappointment? Or else who will pull off for the major home.

And make history for their country. Hideki Matsuyama is one of them. The same goes to the Aussie Marc Leishman. Where he hails from Warrnambool, Victoria. How about the underdog of Corey Conners from Canada? If not then how about the in-from Schauffele. And Will Zalatoris who tries to become one of the youngest to win a major. This is decent completion with six players fighting for the green jacket. The action begins tomorrow 4am AEST or a bit earlier depending on rain. Both on Fox Sports and Nine’s Wide World of Sports.

Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida initially fired off with the lead in Round 1. Where he got by Ryan “Darth” Bader. Thanks to his best kicking strength on the upper body. As well as a few jabs to the face of Bader.

In which is how Bader got slightly behind at the start. Before Bader for the majority able to stay patient while standing. When he used his whole body. Read what Machida cannot do with the conversion into upper body strikes. And Bader managed to ground the Brazilian down.

He might not wrapped up as soon as he liked during each round. But Machida barely escaped past his whole body. As his leg strikes was not enough to get himself back up. Even though the Brazilian tried with one knee down. He just did not offer what Bader offered tonight. Which is the inability take advantage of the upper body. Bader won the remaining four rounds that is enough to win this battle.

The win for Bader tonight sees him advance into the semi-finals. Next Friday sees Vadim Nemkov v Phil Davis in Bellator 257. As the Light Heavyweight GP division begins to fill its spots.

Justin Rose still leads after the 1st half of the 2021 Masters. He shot 72 today which is even par. So nothing wrong from his end as he looks to hold off going into Day 3.

While Brian Harman still tied in joint 2nd spot on 69 & -3 today. And seven under par with the hope of chasing Rose. As Will Zalatoris moved from 4th to 2nd. He played well on 68 at -4 today/-6 overall.

No improvements from Rory McIIroy who continued to decline. Where his swing was still exposed with a rough day at two over par today. And six over par overall which sees himself missed the cut. That means he is eliminated from this major.

Bryson DeChambeau did catch up just inside the Top 20. He shot -5 under par & -1 overall after Day 2. As said earlier on that he came to Augusta as one of the favourites. But so far things did not go against his way. The next two days will be crucial at least if he can finish in the Top 10. A win is increasingly unlikely though.

As well as Hideki Matsuyama who hails from Japan. Was joint 2nd with Brian Harman yesterday. But unable to hold its middle ground at -1 in Round 2. And -4 overall going into tomorrow. He is just outside the Top 10 in 11th. Which is a sign of decline right now. Just needs to be patient if a return to the Top 5-7 would keep his hopes alive. We will find out soon.

Round 2 today sees some players make progress as the heavy movers. Jordan Spieth was 12th yesterday. Now he is in 4th shooting 68 at -4 alone. And -5 overall. Got plenty of momentum carried from the Texas win last week. Tomorrow will be a test if he can split Zalatoris & Harman. Before Spieth can find Rose.

The same goes from Aussie Marc Leishman at 67. He is -5 under par in both Round 2 & overall ladder. Great progress there from 17th to 5th. It will be interesting if he can enter the front row. And stay in contention going into the final round. As Leishman can jump from behind for that green jacket. With $11 million USD in it.

We cannot wait for Day 3 tomorrow with the hope of clear weather. There is a chance of rain towards the end of play at 5-6pm in Augusta, GA. Will it be Rose who still has the lead baton. Or is someone else will put their hand up. And duel with him ahead on Sunday for this major.

Great to see The Masters return in the usual April spot. As it always been in a long time. After the 2020 edition finally came during November due to COVID.

Justin Rose from England leads after Round 1 today on -7. Brian Harman not far behind on -3 who hails from Savannah, GA. Where he is tied up with Hideki Matsuyama (Japan). Plus two Americans round off the Top 5. Will Zalatoris who leads out of the youth alone. He is joint 4th from San Francisco, California. And Webb Simpson aged 35 from Raleigh, NC.

Jordan Speith is in 12th spot/tied 8th at -1 today. Just behind Tyrell Hatton who shot a great birdie in the 12th hole. He came off a tour win last week in Texas. With plenty of work to catch up tomorrow if he wants that green jacket badly. As written in our 2021 Masters preview. Marc Leishman is the No.1 Aussie here. He is aged 37 from Warrnambool, Victoria in 19th spot/tied 13th at Even Par.

Rory McIIroy fired off against his way in 66th at four over par. He came here as the underdog with plenty of criticism regarding his swing. Which led to the hiring of Pete Cowen. Things might change over the next day or two. Well thankfully his dad is okay after he was hit off McIlroy in the 7th hole. But right now the chance to take home the green jacket is a tall order. Same goes to Bryson DeChambeau. He may have won the Arnold Palmer Invitational last month.

But his run here in Augusta does not really benefit his preparations. He too has also entered The Masters as one of the favourites. Just like the delayed 2020 edition where it did not end well. So far there is no sign of early progress. He is four places behind McIIroy in 70th on four over par. Not a great start from both men.

Day 1 is complete with former World No.1 Rose leads the line. Speith still has time to enter the Top 10. Then look to close down to the front row. The same goes to Leishman. And it will be interesting to see if both McIIroy & DeChambeau turns around tomorrow. Cannot wait for Day 2 of 4 in the 2021 Masters. It starts at 5am tomorrow & Sunday. Followed by 4am Monday morning for the final round.

Written by Saba Sozashvili.

On Friday evening (US time), we witnessed a very interesting event, the main battle which was a rematch between Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and Emanuel Sanchez.

Like the first fight, this time the victory went to the Brazilian, but this time he did not leave the decision to the judges score card and in the very first round he was able to earn an early victory with a guillotine choke.

From the first minute, it seemed that Emanuel was trying to use his long limbs to keep his distance from his short stature opponent and score points at the expense of Leg kicks and High kicks, but Pitbull was soon able to read the opponent’s plan.

He started to throw the most relevant counterattack for leg kicks, which are “Hooks”, He knockdown Sanchez and finished already very damaged opponent with a guillotine choke.

There were also a lot of focus on Usman Nurmagomedov’s fight, which lasted 3 rounds and was won quite convincingly by Usman.

This fight was distinguished by the fact that Usman improved his record to 12-0, and Khabib Nurmagomedov improved his record as a coach to 4-0.

EVERYTHING we need to know about A.J McKee.

With this win, Pitbull was able to win a trip to the finals where he will face undefeated fighter A. J. McKee. The 25-year-old American holds the record for 17 wins and 0 losses, of which he has 6-6 wins with submissions and TKO / KOs and 5 with decisions.

An American fighter, has started his fighting amateur career in 2012 and his record includes 7 wins and 1 loss. In 2015 he started a professional career after which he won 17 out of 17 fights.

A.J McKee feels very comfortable at striking, his agility/speed and technique in addition to his abnormally long arms are very dangerous. his reach is 187 centimeters when he is only 178 centimeters in height.

His striking is awesome as he can quickly change levels when hitting opponents, also his arsenal includes high kicks, low kicks, knees etc. He describes his fighting style as “unorthodox and all over the place”.

It is also noteworthy that he uses his long limbs very well on the ground, obviously with the help of long limbs it is much easier to submit someone.

It is also interesting that he managed to win fights with 5 different submissions: Neck Crank, Armbar, Anaconda Choke, Rear-Naked Choke (2 times) and Guillotine Choke, Which means he has a pretty big arsenal of tricks on the ground.

His fights were 3 times the main fight of the event (5 rounds), although he won 2 of them in the first round and 1 in the third round, therefore it is difficult to say anything about how good of a cardio he has for the championship rounds( 4th and 5th rounds).

EVERYTHING we need to know about Pitbull:

The 33-year-old Brazilian is a very experienced fighter with 32 wins and only 4 defeats. He has won fights with knockouts (11 TKO / KO) as well as submissions (12 times).

He started his career back in 2004 and gained a lot of experience during that time.

He managed to beat Michael Chandler, the UFC #4 lightweight contender, in the very first round, who will fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC262 on May 15 for the UFC vacant lightweight title.

It is also noteworthy that Calvin Gastelum, the UFC #8 middleweight contender, predicted a very big future for Pitbull, noting that while wrestling with him, Pitbull showed himself to have high fighting intelligence and skills.

In fact, even in the last fight it turned out well that Pitbull has a really high fighting IQ, it took only 3 minutes to solve the puzzle and gain the victory for the Brazilian.

Pitbull suffered 3 out of 4 defeats by the decision of the judges and 1 TKO, However, all of this should not confuse us.

His last loss came in 2016, against Benson Henderson, where he dominated and had some pretty good shots, but former UFC champion Benson managed to cheque leg kick, resulting in Pitbull injuring his leg. Soon after, Pitbull gave up and stopped the fighting in the middle of the second round.

Since then, Pitbull has fought 7 times and earned 7 victories for his professional resume.

Both fighters have the resources to fight confidently both in the stand and on the ground.

Although Pitbull have victories over taller warriors, such a difference in rich is foreign to him as well.

The height of the Pitbull is 168 cm and the reach is 166 cm and it has 21 cm less rich than the opponent, which is a huge advantage for the striker like A.J.

That’s why A.J. has to try to work from the outside, from a distance, and of course he has to use different shots/kicks and combinations, also he has to be careful because using only leg kicks from the outside didn’t work for Sanchez.

It is because of this reach, that Pitbull’s plan is likely to cause damage to the body with short and quick combinations, and then takedown A.J on the ground, although on the ground he will not be safe, and care must be taken not to be finished by submission.

In a word, the final of the Bellator 66kg weight category is really going to be a super fight where naming a favorite will be very difficult as both fighters can finish the fight anytime and anywhere.
