It’s been a roller coaster ride this week on General Hospital where one was filled with overwhelming emotions following the passing of beloved Qs family member Dr. Monica Quartermaine.
Beyond Monica’s death that was eventually planned by the show’s writing staff when Leslie Charleson passed away at the start of this year, we just saw the surprise return of Ryan Paevey (maybe as Nathan West again?) along with the search of that puppy Outback found alive & the returning Britt yapping as always.
Plus, there’s something you need to know following our this week’s GH weekly recap article when it comes to Network 10.
Looking back at her legacy
Everyone at the Qs are currently in mourning of Dr. Monica Quartermaine, who just passed away in her sleep the other day, when Jason was going to tell his mom about Drew getting shot but then she was no longer breathing by then.
Sure, as you can tell, Monica and Tracy had their own differences from way back when. But at the end of the day, they’re family that keeps them stronger time after time.
Not only she’s a good doctor and a well-known figure at this everyday busy hospital alongside Tracy, she always kept a soft spot for her son Jason too.
Love how she said according to Tracy that “you’re my son” when a young Jason at the time was unwell and yes, Jason these days also may have been associated with Sonny with his mob business. Again, Jason is one of Monica’s own gifts and glad Jason looked back being grateful with the way she raised him from birth.
He will never ever forget that that will pass on to Jason’s son and Monica’s grandson Danny Morgan.
With that said, everyone who has family ties should come together to give one last proper farewell for Monica as RIP.
What’s going on at the WSB with another big decision made by Jack Brennan?
After all this time when that recon mission last week almost blew in smokes before Jason saved them, Jack Brennan made another ruthless decision by promoting that WSB training guy Vaughn as his 2IC while he will send Josslyn back to PCU.
From there, he advised Joss and Vaughn not to see each other again….unless Brennan will have to be taken down by someone else for sure. Since Collette betrayed the WSB after we’ve learned she’s also working for Sidwell and Faison, it seems Carly is beginning to feel worried about what Jason is about to say – and he knows that Joss was turned into an WSB agent by the one and only Brennan.
Gotta say that Carly’s good at guessing Jason’s every move as if she’s a participant in some reality show called “The life of Jason 24/7.” Ironically, Laura Wright who plays Carly was actually a contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Celebrity Edition a few years ago with Curtis Ashford’s Donnell Turner.
Either way, Carly is about to undergo a huge awakening before she will be stuck in a position that will almost be impossible to get out unstuck – just because he’s a charming guy also two-faced of his aggressive temper behind a desk job as Station Chief.
Outback is found with a first-time Gio and Emma kiss
The same will say with Emma Scorpio-Drake as pointed out last week who keeps on having that obsession with “Googly Eyes” Dalton by playing a dangerous game claiming he is indeed endangering animals at his secret lab.
By the time Emma really sees his lab and Dalton knows this on the spot, she will need to be prepared for battle when Dalton will contact his own criminal connections to try and take her down.
Hope she can find a way to stay out of trouble unscathed.
Oh Emma and Gio kissed for the first time by the way following the successful search of that missing puppy Outback from Cody Bell. Laughed a bit there when Cody refused to accept the $10K reward thinking Kristina will give it to him lol when Molly is completely onto him after Ava split up from Ric and that they should honour that $$$ to charity at an animal shelter.
Nice to see Cody pay it forward so he can put his crazy stunts behind him in the rear view mirror.
The News on Rocco and Charlotte ahead of their own meetings with their own parents including Britta
Don’t know how Rocco and Charlotte will react to the news about Outback being found as we’ll see next week. But what’s more serious right now is Rocco knowing his birth mother is back alive while Charlotte is tempted to see her papa Valentin on a plane trip to Switzerland.
Britt will be staying in Port Charles more often now since she got the job back at the hospital where she left off two years ago. However, she will have to do entry level work at the ER and not as a physician. Every time Britt’s yapping and whining like referring Rocco as her birth son Ben while she clearly doesn’t want to do anything with Jason, her portrayer Kelly Thiebaud always carries her light side of acting via her social media pages having studied improv comedy in the past.
Fun fact right there.
On Charlotte? Seems that visit to see her papa Valentin in a maximum security prison will go ahead after all provided that her mom Lulu will be onboard as mother and daughter together which is going to be a delight to Jack Brennan.
For Lulu, it’s a bold call especially when she was worried sick about Britt bumping into Rocco after Brook Lynn did her own thing in revenge of Gio. Glad they didn’t argue this time like it was a few months ago.
As said above, we know Jack is pressing his actions more deeper than ever that will test Carly to the limit, and how will she find out soon enough by surprise that her boyfriend turned her daughter into a WSB agent.
The Return of Nathan West???
Lastly, another person has returned to Port Charles by surprise, especially when Britt’s return to town was met with mixed reception like her mom Liesl. Poor Liesl for mourning Britta as dead every single day over the last two years – only for Britt to somehow just rock up back here alive.
This is the chance for everyone else for us to know what Nathan’s really been up to that will give hints as to who’s been holding Britt prisoner at someone’s lab.
Maybe it’s not Nathan but maybe someone who orchestrated that crash scene trying to get rid of him.
We’ll see but don’t think it’s Sidwell now unless it’s by a long shot who is still too busy trying to take Sonny Corinthos down after he & Marco killed Judge Eva Heran.
Note about Network 10
Now that this week’s GH weekly recap is done, there is something important here to point out with Network 10, who aired these episodes since January 1, 2025.
It’s been a long time since GH came back to Australia back in 2011 at least on one of our free-to-air or subscription services.
However, didn’t know they stopped showing since last Thursday at the time of Season 63 that began last Monday in the USA and Canada. It turns out the episodes they’ve posted was only done for the remainder of Season 62, nothing more.
Even the latest episode from last Thursday had an expiry date of nine months from now so that would be June 2026.
As it stands, it’s hard to tell whether or not if Network 10 will air new GH episodes, but it would be little surprise unfortunately if they decided not to air them again.
I am gutted, people/soap fans who also follow GH back home in Australia would feel the same disappointment too.
What we can do is to tune in the same-day episodes as early as you can between Tuesday-Saturday every week online like YouTube or Dailymotion. The video quality may not be the best but it’s better than nothing where I’ve been watching this for the last five years and never looked back.
Let’s hope ABC and Network 10 can see this so they can put new full-length episodes available again online even on YouTube. If they can do it with Good Morning America and The View, why can’t General Hospital? Hollyoaks from the UK is right up there despite being two-weeks old.
