Here’s a delicious homemade recipe that you can make at home in none other than air-fryer doughnuts that can serve up to four people, dairy & egg free and also without the need of a cutter too.

First of all, put 3/4 teaspoon of active dry yeast along with 1 tablespoon of warm water onto a bowl before you mix it up and cover it up for a while like 30 mins-1 hour. Then add 1 cup of flour as well as a 1/4 cup of warm rice milk, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 egg replacer, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or any type of oil you like & 3-4 teaspoons of sugar in order to form a dough that is coated by a few drops of oil. Repeat the same resting period of an hour to let the dough rise as you cut up into four pieces using a knife & roll it out after the 2nd resting process. From there, you can poke out a hole in the middle using your finger before you press it back onto the cutted dough while shaping out the perfect round circle shape of a doughnut. Once that is done, rest & cover these raw shaped doughnuts up one more time for 30 mins-1 hour before it’s cooking time.

You can fry it on a pan or put it in the oven but it’s best to place two doughnuts a time onto the air fryer and repeat the process same again for the last two at 180 degrees Celsius for 8-9 minutes. And once you cool these off for a while as long as you don’t eat it that hot, these homemade dairy-free doughnuts are ready to eat!! It’s so easy to make if these ready-made doughnuts off the supermarkets or the food courts aren’t for you and to make it extra yummy, you can top these up with chocolate spread or other coloured icing with sprinkles on it. Perfect snack to eat on an occasional day during the week!!

Following up from my McChicken recipe a few weeks ago – mainly with the patty of course, I’ve spent some time making the same type of chicken breading variety but this time it’s something to do with the egg-free chicken nuggets.

Here are the following ingredients:

  • Ground chicken mince
  • Some Salt
  • Some Oil
  • Some Garlic Powder
  • Some mustard sauce instead of the egg to make the chicken stick
  • And of course, panko bread crumbs

All you have to do is mix these following ingredients first apart from the panko bread crumbs in which will come in shortly.

Once the chicken, mustard and the seasoning has been mixed, divide the minced chicken to a few decent sized pieces (small rectangle size would be good) & stick the chicken on the breadcrumbs by adding a few at a time until each of the nuggets are fully coated.

After that, you can put these coated nuggets onto the air fryer for about 15 minutes at 185-190 degrees by flipping it through the halfway cooking stage.

And once the cooking process is done, cool it off for another minutes before it’s all ready to eat – too easy!! See it for yourself when you can go try make your own egg-free or McDonald’s style egg free chicken nuggets or even egg and dairy free popcorn chicken at home. You can also pair it up with these homemade air fryer chips as a side too!!

If the McDonald’s style/rectangular apple and other sweet pies isn’t enough, why not make a savoury version when you can have your own chicken pie with dairy-free gravy at home! For the crust/pastry, you can add a cup of flour as well as a few drips of oil to cover onto a bowl, some salt and sugar and either a few tablespoons of rice milk or water will do as you would want to knead it until your hands are no longer sticky. Put that into the fridge for at least an hour while you go make your own filling by cutting a quarter of chicken of your choice (raw or already frozen) into many pieces, then mix a a tablespoon of dairy-free gravy mix with on a saucepan before you turn the heat up closer to medium and throw the shredded chicken in there also for a few minutes. Once it’s cooked leave the filling until it’s cold for a while, take the pastry out of the fridge after the resting phase and you want to cut the pastry in half to fit a serving of two and leave the other half to save it for next time.

You wanna roll the pastry out with a couple of drops of flour on your chopping board (not too thin) so it doesn’t keep on sticking before you take some chunks out of the pastry in order to make it a perfect rectangular shape for your McDonald’s rectangular style chicken pie. That’s when you can put a good amount of chicken gravy in there, cover the pie up nicely and mix it up with another few drops of flour to stop the pie from sticking out while cooking. Speaking of cooking, put two pies into the air fryer, add a bit of rice milk or oil as your eggwash alternative & fire it up at 185 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes while flipping it to the other side at the halfway mark. And done, cool these pies down for at least 30 minutes as they come out really hot before it’s all ready for you to eat. See it for yourself when you can make your own McDonald’s rectangular style chicken or savoury pies if you like at home as I’m sure you will love this homemade recipe at your own kitchen.

I had the chance to try & get the best out of my pastry making skills over the weekend when it comes to these home made apple pies or any other savoury pie filling you like (e.g. chicken or potato pie).

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 cups of flour
  • A few tablespoons of rice milk/water
  • 1/3 cup of avocado oil
  • Some sprinkles of salt and sugar
  • And any filling you like to fill it inside & cover up the pastry dough before baking

All you have to do is pour 1/3 cup of avocado into a bowl followed by some pinches of salt & sugar before adding 2 cups of plain flour, as well as few tablespoons of rice milk or water for a start. Then mix it up using your hands or through a food processing machine for a few minutes while adding a few more tablespoons of rice/milk at a time, so they can end up sticking together (not too sticky!) & finish it off onto a rectangle or disk shape layout on your pastry dough.

After that, cover the dough with a medium to large freezer bag nice & tight with a bowl into the refrigerator for at least an hour. Once the dough has been rested, get your rolling pin out & roll it out to the desired thickness & shape you want, then leave it out onto the sausage roll maker machine nice & flat by adding your favourite filling before closing the pastry nice & tight ahead of the cooking process.

It will take 30 minutes to get the job done where you will have to flip one side at the halfway mark (15 min). Once it’s been cooked & also cooled down for a few minutes, the natural avocado oil pastry got there will be crispy & golden on the outside while you can see the awesome saucy filling on the inside – How good!!

Final Thoughts

For the best results of making such homemade pastry, I would make two pastry doughs to cover both sides well with the filling in between since there’s no puff pastry sheets that is margarine-free from the supermarket freezer shelves.

It can be tricky to find a dairy & egg free equivalent of these ready-made frozen pastry sheets that doesn’t require a lot of work, especially when some may contain milk as they’re all processed within the one equipment from the factory.

However, making them at home is a better, cheaper & safer option – so you can eat it naturally & also healthier too! See it for yourself with the avocado oil pastry recipe that is egg & dairy free to make at home.

Here’s an awesome McChicken burger that I re-created by myself lately but only egg and dairy free.

Here’s the following ingredients in order to make it into a patty:

  • Some ground chicken mince or dice into very small pieces if you have one full slice of free-range chicken breast
  • Some mustard
  • Some garlic powder
  • Some pinches of salt
  • A bit of ginger & oil

All you have to mix these ingredients first before you coat them up with dairy-free Panko Bread Crumbs. If that’s not enough then you can always add a bit more mustard so it can stick to the patty well which works great instead of egg.

Now that the patty has been coated by the bread crumbs, put it onto the air fryer for 14-15 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius while you flip one patty onto the other side halfway through the cooking process (7th minute). Once the cooking process is done, cool the patty first for a few mins.

Then make sure you wash some fresh lettuce first before you can cut them up into small pieces while you open & cut the middle on one of these round soft burger buns. After that, top up the chicken first on the base of the bun followed by dairy-free mayo at the top that is accompanied by the lettuce & voila…here’s my our McChicken burger that is now good to eat!

Not only it’s so delicious, but it’s also easy to make too where you can make a few of them as you like instead of one, which costs less than the usual $8 we buy at McDonald’s!! You can even compliment them with some fries and/or even make tea as your preferred cup of drink instead of soft drinks like Coca Cola or Sprite.

Check it out for yourself when you really don’t need to eat out at McDonald’s often by making your own McChicken burger at home!!

Hello,

It’s been a while since I was last active on my blog a few weeks ago but I’ve been making some awesome food recipes, as well as tasting some cool snacks lately that is going to be yummy, dairy-free and egg-free.

You don’t wanna to miss it as I’ve attached some decent sneak peak photos on a pic collage where I will look to try & post these here consistently at least once a week for a restart.

Plus, I might pop in some occasional tech, health or fitness stuff here from time to time again whenever I might need to take a break from baking/creating/replicating food recipes or posting snack content.

Hope is all well as stay tuned to kick off the Month of May over the next few weeks.

Regards,

Matt

Hello and hope you are having a great Easter long weekend,

I haven’t been posting some food content lately but will need to take some time off for a while here due to so many important things I need to address first, having no longer been in touch with my former blogging co-worker anymore due to being busy all the time with daily gigs whom we created this blog together a few months ago. Yes, we saw some growth at last over the last 2-3 months after some inconsistency in between Thanksgiving and Christmas from the start, but then we still have a long way to go in the hope of sharing content again here soon with a brand new approach.

So watch this space for The Deal With Zeal to hopefully return better than ever either towards the end of this month or the start of next month by restarting a consistent once a week posting schedule and bit more extras if possible.

Regards,

Matt

I had the chance to taste a different style of chips off when they arrived straight to my door from Amazon yesterday afternoon. Not only they’re healthy considering the natural flavour & layout on the outside, but these chips also taste better with some pinches of sea salt on the inside which is a really cool snack to crave sometime during the day.

The best part about it that they’re vegan, naturally cooked in sunflower oil, gluten-free, kosher & also locally owned here in New South Wales. And you can even try it with free delivery included on your first Amazon order here, as they may not be available on the major supermarket shelves but perfect to add for your next recurring or regular order with them online. Although, you can continue enjoying the free delivery benefits there as long as you buy a couple of items including this healthy snack if you can over the $39 threshold.

Here’s some purple sweet potato chips that is deliciously healthy and yummy to eat!! Yes, the picture does look like normal yellow potato chips you normally find everywhere but it’s not since they’re organically sweet either from your garden or at the supermarket or flea market.

All you have to do is peel these skinned sweet potatoes first, then you wash them and chop them up into thick cut slices before mixing it with some oil & salt and whack it over the air fryer for 11 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius. Although toss it over at the 8th minute & put it back again to make sure they’re well cooked – too easy!!

See it for yourself when you can try these healthier potato type chips for your next lunch or snack meal.

Normally, you would usually put the toppings first on top of the pizza base that is covered with pizza sauce before putting onto the pre-heated oven/air fryer for 10 or so minutes. This is usually suitable for frozen ready-made pizzas off the supermarket shelves & re-heated pizzas for slightly less cooking time before eating.

However, I experimented putting a blank pizza base for the first seven yesterday afternoon, then flip the other side by putting the sauce & toppings on top of the base afterwards. Make sure you put it back onto your electrical appliance for another 3-4 minutes so the breading/crust can be nice & crispy once it’s ready to eat.

And when I got to taste it, it did pay off well on both sides. If I can improve one thing to make the pizza base even better, I would say cook them both sides by rotating the base without topping and sauce through five minute intervals. Then add your favourite sauce & toppings to put back onto the oven/air fryer for another 3-4 minutes & not only the crust looks delicious as always, but also the inside as well when cutting them into slices. As said, it would not hurt to try if you only have a homemade or frozen blank pizza base.
