Last week was a lot busy in the real world like the Inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump now back running the White House for the 2nd time (don’t pay attention to that at all) to an amazing Australian Open Tennis Finals week, with Madison Keys finally a first time major winner that ended Aryna Sabalenka’s two-year dominance & Jannik Sinner went back-to-back over in the men’s Final that next day following his straight sets triumph v Alexander Zverev.

But at the same time, there’s a few other things you need to know regarding the latest happenings of Port Charles over the part week – so let’s look back shall we?

First of all, kudos to Carly for taking the brave decision to send her son Michael to Germany for the best care and recovery from those burns he’s badly suffered lately. I do hope his recovery will work out well just like Ava went through when she was badly burned & got treated in a special clinic somewhere in Russia before she was able to return to her normal life.

With the kids, they are all well settled now under the hands of their mom Willow as long as Drew is nowhere near them – despite all the stoushes Tracy has done lately to keep the kids away from her that eventually got her arrested when they are Quartermaines & Willow has been sneaking upon another man a few times behind Michael’s back in his nephew Drew.

Happy now!! And yes, Tracy may play a few tricks up her sleeve but she is one hell of a true Quartermaine. Speaking of the Qs, looks like Curtis is acting on the best interests of Aurora as good luck trying to get your company back Drew when he trusts Michael “a bit more” when it comes to business than his former pal right there.

End of.

Plus, congrats on the new job at Deception Lulu – love how Tracy shamed Gladys Corbin when she previously worked there an assistant, even though mending with Brook Lynn will have to take time or maybe not & BLQ’s pregnancy results show up before she will see Gio.

What else?

Ava continues to barge into people who she doesn’t see eye-to-eye like Alexis, Kristina and even Sonny when she was extremely furious about threatening to take Avery away from Sonny permanently if people are still going to target him.

Tough road for both of them with Sonny’s heart not feeling good but finally agrees to see a cardiologist somewhere discreet in LA & Ava having to live in an unit due to being broke at the moment while she struck one kiss with $$$ guy and attorney Ric Lansing who is indeed on her side.

Plus, Charlie’s Pub is back up and running too thanks to Kristina and also down as well with Cody Bell causing all that drama once again while being drunk & crazy. Don’t know why he was picking on Spinelli when he was trying to recoup the investment he lost so much lately after Kai Taylor was injured with his team also that next game at the same time before he punched Lucky despite Lucky trying to calm him down and break up that fight from Spinelli. But surely, he should listen to his Scorpio family first and that’s what we should know that version of Cody Bell for at his finest – please don’t throw it away!

Speaking of Kai, looks like he won’t be able to play Football ever again following injury scans from his doctor. It’s a shame because he’s well known to Port Charles as one of their star quarterbacks. But with football careers usually last so short, we could see more of Kai bonding up with Trina when it comes to their relationship together that could go with the distance.

Time will tell.

And when is Jenz Sidwell going to be stopped? I don’t know. So does Cyrus with Liz and Lucky still investigating as unofficial detectives together while Joss throws herself into the deep end by volunteering at Turning Woods & they will all be there to catch him in his tracks once & for all.

With the Australian Open Tennis now over and shoutout to Carly’s Laura Wright by the way who loves this sport as a fan including Rafa Nadal too, Australians can catch up on the latest episodes right now on 10 Play. They are currently on last Tuesday’s episode (3 behind the US), so why not take advantage of that for those who would like to give it a go as if it’s your first time playing Tennis or watching on TV by helping increase our soap-loving support of this iconic show.

Another week, another round of fights when it comes to custody battles for Michael and Willow’s two kids in Wiley and Amelia amid Michael’s unfortunate accident who suffered nearly half the burns of his body from a fire last week.

Okay, it was Sonny and Carly v Willow and Drew and initially it was all good settling their differences aside at first. But then things went way downhill from there when Sonny and Carly can’t see Michael after being told to leave by Patient Advocate Felicia & Willow can’t see her kids because Tracy was playing hardball v everyone, especially not long after Willow didn’t see eye-to-eye with Sasha Gilmore.

The good news though is that Willow felt extremely guilty about this following her heart-to-heart talks with Chase & looks like that custody battle against Tracy is gonna get sorted while Sonny & Carly are able to see their adult son again.

Hopefully, this will be the last of Willow and Drew bumping into each other soon enough and have Willow listen to her mom – I really hope so. And Tracy, I understand what it takes to protect your little ones at all costs; but again, keep it cool, please, much like your good employees with them being “first cousins” in Cody and Sasha who sides with the Q’s matriarch.

Plus, thank god Michael will be okay after almost being overdosed into cardiac arrest that could’ve been fatal by Cyrus Renault’s antics with that digitalis drug before Dr. Isaiah Gannon saved the day – more on the latest of Cyrus later.

Although not sure where Michael is gonna go to get himself fully healed from those burns – enter Jack Brennan who Carly (please still stay away from him!) reached out for his help who can be good guy but also a bad guy too (see his personal feud lately trying to have Valentin shot & killed).

What else?

  • Kai Taylor’s hype as a QB-1 College Football player continues to skyrocket but also crash down at the same time following his arm injury in his next game. There goes his PCU’s team loss and it’s certainly not a good look on Cody Bell’s face when his big bet didn’t pay off – oh dear;
  • Understand how hard it is for Lulu not able to see her daughter Charlotte again when Dante showed up and suddenly Valentin was furious by disappearing with her again. Now she’s looking for a job to support herself at Brook Lynn’s Deception cosmetics business as her assistant. Wait till we find out about that teenage boy named Gio;
  • Jenz Sidwell stops by at Ava’s gallery to purchase one of her artworks which gave her much-needed money after her divorce payments had been taken away by the Cassadines last month, even though he’s the owner of that new Wyndamere Estate Ava has previously owned with. Well, congratulations but that money is Ric’s now being owed there for her court case win v Kristina -still a long way to go when it comes to her own custody fight against Sorry for her daughter Avery;
  • And when is Cyrus Renault is gonna get arrested for all the murders he committed lately not just Dex but also to patients at the hospital? It’s a shame he was allowed to walk free & do dishes at the PC Grill after he was brought into questioning by Anna but it seems the investigation is still early though until they really find out more of this…eventually.

In the meantime, 10 Play has just started their weekly episodes of GH earlier this week on Tuesday after new content from the Festive break has been added the day before (Monday 13th). At the moment they’re about 3 episodes behind the original US airing with the latest one being Tuesday’s episode this morning where Drew stormed into Nina’s house like a robot when he actually caused far too much trouble to his uncle as well as family and friends.

This kinda reminds me of when Y & R and Days of Our Lives were three episodes at the time over the last decade before 10 Play took the rights off Foxtel & then fast-tracked to same day ones nearly 12 months ago. And yes, GH would be four rather than the usual five episodes next week with Tuesday’s episode likely to be pre-empted due to news coverage for Donald Trump’s 2nd inauguration as the US President.

Here’s some more Jenz Sidwell unfortunately this time being the new owner of that Spoon Island estate the Cassadines took off from Ava last month with Lucy showing him around & yet they struck a great bond together really quickly.

Please stay away from him Lucy (we know what it was like last time with Victor Cassadine) as he’s an extremely dangerous man who held Lucky hostage while in Africa a few months ago before he switched targets to just Holly but also her family including Sasha once he got into Port Charles.

Same goes to Isaiah unless you come clean by staying away from Cyrus Renault when he treated Sonny’s heart on the spot following a heart attack last week with the advice of getting his heart checked at GH.

Speaking of GH, it’s such a filthy place to get treated at the moment, especially at the hands of runaway drug overdose killer Cyrus Renault who killed a couple of patients there now – despite being not allowed to visit patients by Portia.

It’s a shame that Michael is likely now to be the next one of his victims joining Dex Heller, Sam McCall and Sylvie Mullen when he was badly burned the other day during a fire explosion aimed at Sonny’s penthouse.

What’s even worse that Joss is bound to lose both of her loved ones in boyfriend Dex & brother Michael.

But the good news is that even though Chad Duell has already moved on for now after 15 years, the door is still open for him to come back as Michael whenever he wants it next time with the character maybe somehow making a full recovery at a long-care burns clinic – or maybe being taken elsewhere at the request of Cyrus.

Beyond Michael’s tragic accident and potential death (we know in this soap world people aren’t really dead as it’s possible to come back alive after all), we continued to witness some more bad blood towards Drew & Willow off the back from another state of their own love affairs as well as Willow’s mom Nina.

Although we didn’t see any of Carly v Nina this time but Nina however did see Joss to protect her daughter while Curtis asked Drew to leave Michael alone for his nephew’s sake when he rushed straight to GH from Washington D.C.

Curtis, you got what you wanted, now go take over the whole company then.

But I did like how Josslyn was angry at Willow after all the things she’s done by double crossing with men in the past while in a relationship and yet Willow is still at it again this time with Drew whilst she’s still tied to Michael (until now of course) & their two kids (heard about that court order notice where they had to be taken away from Willow, right move though) – wow, that’s facts as this made me chuckle lol.

What else?

  • It was sweet seeing Kristina and Molly reconcile yesterday when Kristina was there for her brother Michael;
  • Ava’s death stare coupled with her financial situation being taken away by the Cassadines;
  • Same goes to Brook Lynn when she wondered why she’s struggling to get pregnant with Chase but then Gio could drive a wedge between the two as he could turn out to be BLQ’s son;
  • And who is gonna stop Cyrus now? I don’t know. But it could be Felicia who told Joss about the night she was there at Rice Plaza when the bells stopped ringing & he took a break to stab and then kill Dex with that overdose – looks like we are on the move then soon enough.

Lastly, aside from our usual weekly daytime drama as General Hospital or US soap fans here, we are currently thinking about the people affected by the LA wildfires over the past few days including right now for those who live there to work including its cast members (both on contract and recurring), producing and writing staff – hoping they’re okay.

For now, GH is set to level up for our Australian audience on 10 play on-demand online (free to sign up and watch btw), with 9 episodes from the Festive break to be added on Monday before weekly episodes begin between Tuesday-Saturday the following day (about 4 eps behind now since GH didn’t air Tuesday due to the electoral vote count). If you can’t get enough of it so far, all previous 67 episodes through December 18 are good to view right now at any time.

From the weekend, so we now know how Chad Duell is gonna leave the show following his announcement back in November as Michael Corinthos after a long decade-and-a-half through being set on fire at Sonny’s penthouse ahead of Tuesday’s General Hospital episode.

I could not believe how he was so stuck into this extremely difficult situation as wondering if Michael was targeted by Sidwell who is still on the run at large just because he learned about Sasha’s recent pregnancy last month at the chapel with him as the father?

I also see Sonny trying to save him but Jason would wanna do it himself since he had a heart attack lately & didn’t want to be checked into GH. We all know what happened with the Cyrus Renault Digitalis overdose epidemic lately who killed a couple of patients unfortunately that could see the feud being reunited against one another like it was back in 2020-21, so yeah, not a good place to get treated at the moment unless Cyrus gets caught.

Whatever that may turn out to be after the 60th minute, looks like this could be the last of Michael for now with Chad open to a future return if and when the time is right as there’s no plans of a recast at this time – he’s got a young family of his own remember with Brazilian partner Liliana Lucci and their infant son named Dawson.

Not only this Tuesday’s episode could be a must watch for those who have been following along for a long time during the daytime afternoon, it also looks like Network 10 has also pinned their perfect moment to begin week-long episodes between Tuesday-Saturday online after the show finally retuned to Australia last Wednesday on New Year’s Day 2025.

If you can’t get enough of GH, all 67 episodes through December 18 is good to view right now at any time on 10 play with a further nine episodes from the Festive break will arrive next Monday.

For now, yeah, heartbreaking to see Michael being badly burned that could impact everyone including a few families he always closely has ties with. But we wish Chad the best of luck as let’s hope GH doesn’t run him into the ground where Michael could be put into a long-term care burns clinic & recover over time unlike Kelly Monaco’s Sam McCall after over 20 years when Cyrus killed her lately via digitalis even though she was healthy after giving Lulu her liver post-surgery.

Where we do start? Thank you Lulu for playing such a dangerous game that could’ve seen herself, Valentin and/or even Charlotte killed through a sniper off the rooftop. Thank god they were all okay before Valentin and Charlotte quickly vanished to out of nowhere once again.

The shooter behind this though is…drum roll please – Colette the assistant under the watchful eye of local WSB agent Jack Brennan. Wow! Didn’t see this coming as Jason and Sonny said, told ya so Carly!

She was the one who was following Lulu all along just to make sure she gets what he wants, so Jack knows how corrupt Valentin is having previously been in touch earlier this year via business in Pikeman.

The good news for Lulu that she can see her daughter again but only if Charlotte doesn’t contact her dad from now on – seems like she will want to stay with Valentin as bitter blow to Lulu right there.

Michael and Willow figuring each other out about what to do with the baby now that he just paid a higher price after their one-off love affair a few weeks ago. Yes, she can look after the new baby herself but Michael should have some responsibility too in case things go wrong – even if he & Sasha won’t be back together. Meanwhile, the Drew Cain madness gets even worse after being officially been sworn in as a congressman with Willow by his side.

Oh dear, but that’s Drew being a politician while playing dirty albeit at a personal level when it comes to an affair rather than actually fixing community concerns.

Stay tuned next week when Drew will be caught for the wrong reasons yet again when it comes to taking his kids with Willow along for the ride in the nation’s capitol all without Michael’s permission.

Then sad to hear about Sonny’s heart condition having suffered a heart attack the other day We understand when he refused medical advice but don’t forget Cyrus Renault is running his private office also from GH right now unfortunately and it’s a shame to see Liz being dragged into this Digitalis overdose murdering spree investigation that could’ve seen her being suspended. Therefore, Sonny will play hero to uncover his dirty hospital work.

When GH goes back to week-long episodes following the festive break, Portia will be the first one to confront Cyrus as per preview for the next episode.

But again, he will find another way to unlock another dangerous motive other than injecting an IV full of Digitalis that ended the lives of three patients including Sam McCall & Dex Heller as well as Sylvie Mullen.

What else? Ava is furious having her divorce settlement money from Nikolas being taken away by the Cassadines as no can do by the Greek law ruling, Lucas and Kristina talking things out at Charlie’s Pub with Lucky looking to support himself as a bartender, and Kai taking time off from his hectic football schedule by looking on a piece of art with Trina.

And in case if you missed it, GH has just already returned to Australian shores the other day (Wednesday) after a long time away from our screens other than YouTube and Dailymotion, of course.

10 Play online is the only place to see the latest episodes, although we still have a long way to go by being on par with other US soaps that has been incredibly popular to us for a long time. So a few days behind episodes is the way to go for a start with all 67 episodes from September to December 18 available to view right now at any time with another 9 to be added on Monday 13th before weekly episodes will begin from there (Tuesdays-Saturdays).

I didn’t know this day would come for General Hospital to air in Australia again and finally they will thanks to Network 10 who will be bringing the episodes to us online on-demand starting on Wednesday January 1st 2025.

This is a show I personally enjoyed for years and still doing so today every time it comes out up-to-date online like YouTube and Dailymotion, even though the pictures we see may not have the best quality but still better than nothing though.

Yes, when 2025 arrives on January 1st, 10 will be able to make all other previous Season 62 episodes from early September to end of December 2024 available on demand, with new episodes coming in as they go from the original US broadcast. It remains to be seen though whether or not if the new episodes will be a few days old or same day as the original airings from USA (ABC) and Canada (CityTV).

I’m hoping it’s the latter but considering the show hasn’t aired in quite a long time, so maybe a few days old is where 10 will start with minimal risk & if that goes well at some point, then yes! Definitely same day episodes 100%. We’ll wait and see.

Other than that, I’ve been pushing so hard to have GH finally have it aired legally again in Australia where this show still has a knack of great fun while they have a good representation of Australian actors/actresses, as well as other actors/actresses who went on to become Hollywood and Prime-Time stars.

But remember, GH is not on the same popularity when it comes to International interest & even Australian viewers on the TV alike too compared to Bold and The Beautiful & The Young and The Restless.

Although I probably like to give a shoutout to Neighbours who is still going strong and when they returned on the air last year also thanks to Amazon, love how they quickly formed a great connection with the US viewers and some of the Neighbours cast/staff even went to the Daytime Emmy awards too – not sure it was June this year or the delayed last year one (December).

I’m pretty sure both the network and the country’s strong history of soaps would be the key reason why they would like to try GH, having been content airing first-run episodes of Y & R and Days on 10 Play from earlier this year after the show’s previous contracts with Foxtel via Sony Television Studios & Corday Productions was expired.

Here’s hoping GH will go well this time on 10 online in Australia with the potential of same-day US episodes in the long run soon enough from the minute they air new episodes in 2025. For now, will still be catching up same-day US episodes online as said earlier above. Although if there’s something I want to look back, then definitely will go to 10 Play – another plus we don’t have unlike Canada’s CityTV & ABC’s Hulu at the moment unless you want to look at certain ship couples’ clips of course!

We thought this latest Top Gear Australia revival by Network 10’s paid streaming service Paramount + wouldn’t get a second free-to-air window as last said earlier this yea,  but it’s now on the main free-to-air channel after all as just premiered tonight – a months later from its original first-run Paramount + screening (May). It remains to be seen if TGA will be given on-demand access on 10 Play for those who didn’t get to watch this tonight.

The only difference 10 viewers will get on Top Gear Australia is a series of commercial breaks in each episode that goes up to 90 minutes, which is the same length we get from the original UK Top Gear episodes as it was before when these UK episodes last aired on Nine.

Everything else you will see isn’t that much with dedicated motoring redhead like Blair “Moog” Joscelyne reviewing performance-road cars in a similar way Chris Harris does for the UK show.

Alongside him is a former professional athlete & an entertainer competing in challenges with Moog alongside Beau Ryan and Jonathan LaPaglia much like how the UK last had former England all-round cricketer Andrew Flintoff & comedian/presenter Paddy McGuiness.

Also, the car they use when they bring in celebrity guests to drive around the race track is the Subaru BRZ compact sports car coupe whose identical twin Toyota 86 was last used on the UK show. And lastly, don’t know where that new race track is as it’s not the Camden Airport airfield that the original Top Gear Australia version used on SBS (Season 1 & 2) and later Nine (Seasons 3 & 4) a long time ago. But what we do know that this latest studio building is filmed in Sydney’s Cockatoo Island.

Fingers crossed to see what the ratings will be like on 10 as we don’t know if Top Gear Australia will be back for 2025.

Yes, the original UK show is currently not on air with Season 34 already cancelled midway through production following Freddie Flintoff’s freak crash two years ago. However, it looks like they had run its course unfortunately as this show no longer has the same popularity they once had before when Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left back in 2015-16. The show’s website may still live on but time will tell if TGA has unfinished business that would reflect well on Paramount +’s investment via 10.

In the meantime, October has been living large with these first-run streaming shows now popping up on free-to-air – with Nine currently showing Bali 2002 (two episodes done with Episode 3 to come on Monday) & Ten doing the same with Top Gear Australia (1 done with 7 weeks to go).

We didn’t see that coming when the main Wheel of Fortune show will finally be on Network 10 beginning next week just days after Ryan Seacrest officially took over the hot seat at the new Wheel of Fortune host in place of the recently retired Pat Sajak following a long four-decade stint with co-host Vanna White still turning the letters. It’s been a long time coming having not heard much about Wheel in Australia for a long time but seems like the time is right, especially when 10’s parent company Viacom CBS has some rights to the franchise alongside Sony. Although the celebrity version of Wheel was previously shown on air here for some time in the past but that was via one of the Foxtel Pay TV channels in Arena or Fox One. We’ll wait and see if the celebrity will be on 10 also with the hope of seeing a bit more Pat Sajak for one last ride in this 2024-25 TV season.

Don’t forget the local Wheel version has already been announced for a revival nearly a year ago where it will rather be filmed in the UK than in a Melbourne or Sydney studio featuring Australian expatriate contestants but we still don’t know when this will make into air and whether or not if it will go for 30 mins or 1 hour. What we do know is that you can tune in the half-hour main Wheel of Fortune syndicated game show at 2pm weekdays right here on 10 as I’m sure there will be on-demand content on 10 Play if you can’t be there when everyone else is busy & looks like the episodes will be a week-long old. But that’s okay I guess as we’ll see how this turns out and if does turn out to be an success in like a year or two, then maybe they might fast-track it online just like they do with their soaps like Bold and The Beautiful, The Young and The Restless and Days of Our Lives.

By the way, great to see 10 revamping their Daytime line-up with a fun early afternoon delight of game shows from overseas like putting Wheel on at 2 + an hour of Lingo before the 3.30pm Afternoon News bulletin that rivals Nine’s Pointless quiz show and UK’s Tipping Point between 2-4pm. And yes, welcome Ryan Seacrest to the show when it’s going to take some time to fill Pat’s legendary shoes but he’s been there and done that with so many top shows & live specials in the past – good luck!!

Yesterday, Network 10 officially extended its successful Football Australia contract who will continue airing the Men’s Socceroos and Women’s Matildas matches for another four years between 2025-2028.

Although there will be a couple of changes that you need to know going forward:

  • Home Socceroos matches remains live on 10 & 10 play but all away matches will be behind a paywall via Paramount + with the final round of World Cup Asian group qualifying set to begin later this year – expecting this to be similarly arranged across both the Socceroos and Matildas future friendly games.
  • 2027 Men’s Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia only on Paramount + regardless if the Socceroos qualify or not. It’s a shame there won’t be at least some free-to-air content unlike the previous one earlier this year in Qatar but again, they’re a team who is not at the top band of Asia unlike Japan at this stage – especially when their A-League comp isn’t so strong compared to the Saudi, Japanese and Korean domestic leagues.
  • But there’s a lot more though ahead for the Tillies with six free-to-air 2026 Women’s Asian Cup games on home soil and 15 2027 Women’s World Cup games in Brazil live on 10 & 10 Play with the rest on Paramount +. At least the best of our women’s soccer team will be showcased on free-to-air with the Women’s World Cup rights being a new addition to 10 thanks to Football Australia who recently purchased the 2027 Women’s World Cup rights on its own & then putting it onto this next Football Australia rights deal in order to fetch the best value possible. Sure, 10 missed out the previous Women’s World Cup last year to Seven & Optus Sport when it was held on home soil & also New Zealand, with the next edition going to be held early during the morning our time. But it’s better than nothing though since the Tillies is still on the rise despite their poor Olympics group stage exit at Paris 2024, although you can tell there was no Sam Kerr at the time as she’s still recovering from an ACL knee injury.
  • All other AFC tournaments including the next two U23 Men’s Asian Cup editions for 2026 & 2028 still on Paramount + as well as the Australia Cup domestic knockout competition. It remains to be seen if some of the Round of 32 games onwards will be split across 10 Play & Paramount + or even see most games only on Paramount + but sure the annual grand final though will still be on 10 & 10 Play after all.

Not a bad deal to keep an excellent product that worked so well for 10 if you look at the Socceroos’s whirlwind 2022 journey to the main World Cup draw via Play-Offs as well as the Matildas’ enormous rise over these last few years.

What’s next now is to sort out with the A-Leagues whose contract will expire at the end of the 2025/26 season with an option for a three-year extension. Since the competition standards aren’t so good as said with the AFC club rankings, this really translates their poor ratings across 10 and Paramount + where games have been aired on 10 Bold over the last few seasons rather than the main channel except the grand final.

The good news that 10 is in no rush to stay covering Australian soccer when it comes to the A-Leagues but surely that’s up to the competition itself who needs to improve their standards as things won’t make much of difference if they stay running like this regardless of media partner before there’s nowhere else to look out for with competition at the end of the day.

Although Foxtel would be happy to come back if it becomes available or 10 no longer wants it where some will be paywall and others would be free-to-view via Kayo Freebies (similar to what they do right now with Netball here), but an appropriate type of marketing, value and relationship with a particular broadcaster is key for that next domestic TV rights package.

So there we have it, Optus Sport is now your new home of the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield beginning later this year under a multi-year contract. Network 10 via Paramount + previously had the rights over the last three seasons but their contract has now expired and unable to renew its contract where they will now be left with the A-League both Men’s and Women’s competitions (expiring at the end of 2025/26) as well as the Socceroos and Matildas matches including their respective AFC and World Cup qualification campaigns (expiring soon but is expected to be renewed until at least 2028).

Meanwhile on Optus’s end, they’ve now got the FA Cup both men’s and women’s tournaments alongside the Premier League, La Liga, Copa America (currently ongoing), Women’s Super League in England and many more including the UEFA International Football competitions such as the Euro 2024 (also currently ongoing) as well as the yearly Nations League.

That’s a bit of surprise when we first thought the FA Cup would return to free-to-air here for 10 since they’ve first acquired the rights off ESPN to at least air the big Final LIVE like SBS used to so for so many years and decades. However, that’s no longer a requirement nowadays since it’s no longer protected by the government & 10 didn’t have to make this happen by just chucking the highlights and its extras content including these past archives for free on 10 Play while having the whole lot such as all the live and on-demand matches being locked up behind a paywall via Paramount +. Although they did have the Youth Cup knockout rounds including the final in front of a paywall only online on 10 Play, but that’s the bare minimum they could do likewise with the early round senior matches during their first year if I recall up until the fifth-round proper I think and then everything else is only Paramount +. Unfortunately, that’s not going to change anytime soon where the only free content Optus Sport will show is show 3 minute highlight matches of each round hours after the game is done in the morning – It’s the same thing they do with other footballing properties Optus shows such as the Premier League, the WSL & UEFA Internationals.

Other than that, not much of a loss from 10 to lose one part of their soccer rights and something to gain from Optus by having another major English Football Domestic competition that complements the Premier League and even the Women’s Super League well in the FA Cup & Community Shield. I’m sure they will have the FA Youth Cup as part of the bigger deal with the FA this week while continuing to air the Women’s FA Cup which is contracted separately to the Men’s competition.

For now, you can view all the FA Cup stuff including the entirety of the 2023-24 season while you can on 10 and Paramount + up until August before Optus Sport takes over beginning with another Manchester derby between Manchester United v Manchester City this time for the Community Shield trophy once again on Sunday August 10 at Wembley Stadium.
