Here’s a healthy snack that I tasted some weeks ago with the Sun Rice corn-like chips from Woolworths. Yes, it’s a bit like Doritos and CCs as not only it’s great but comes out so healthier than these two combined. Yes, the packaging size of this chips is a bit closer to the two other corn chips but a bit surprised the amount of corn chips Sun Rice has put in was a bit smaller of what Doritos and CC has to offer at the same price of around $5. So that is something Sun Rice might consider when producing the next batch of corn chips, but overall it’s not bad when they added the healthy element well alongside a good taste of making their own corn chips. If Sea Salt (my favourite one) wasn’t enough to satisfy your snack cravings, you can also get one something cheesy in Farmhouse Cheddar as well as another that is so spicy (Smokehouse BBQ and Paprika).

I’ve just thought it would be a great time to try out a plant-based or dairy-free version of the Cherry Ripe chocolate bar & fortunately, that wish has been realised today thanks to Muscle Nation after I bought one today at my local Coles store.
I might be a bit irked when the coconut flakes may have fallen everywhere but I understand that’s part of the presentation of the final piece. However, I do love how they made the a mix of the gooey cherry jam and the custard filling all on the inside together that makes this dairy-free/plant-based “cherry ripe” chocolate bar so great. I would have it most days of the week during my morning snack, even though it may be a bit pricey compared to the usual cherry ripe chocolate bar.
Plus, it’s a protein bar even though it’s dairy-free and plant based, which is good for people like me and for those who are on a diet or need to use it to support their training/exercise program. So for kids, you can’t eat it until you’re 15 since it’s not your typical regular snack & for women who are currently pregnant, please consult your physician/doctor before trying this out. But again, I’ll see if there’s any way I can make a dairy free cherry ripe bar that is good to eat at home as a regular snack next time. For now, it’s on special only for a limited time at $3.60 & you can buy it at your local Coles store.
And finally, thanks to Muscle Nation for showcasing a dairy-free/plant-based/vegan “cherry ripe” chocolate. I do wish though that you can make a dairy-free/plant-based/vegan birthday cake bar too.
Here’s another snack you should try on the go that is healthy thanks to the pea and pinto bean sticks range from Off The Eaten Path. It has a couple of natural peas and beans flavours inside such as green for peas, pinto beans for pink/red & white beans along with some spinach & beetroot powder. Another good thing about this that the price is $3 right now at your local Woolworths store. I’ve tried the sea salt flavour which is really good when they got a great aisle full of healthy snack chops and even plant-based chocolate bars as well. It’s also available in cheese & sweet and sour, so go try one right now today!!
Yesterday, I found out something interesting at my local Coles store where I fortunate to buy the last packet of the brand new Vegan Prawn Crackers Sea Salt flavour from Vege Chips. Unlike the prawn chips out there that has a bit of prawn meat & Crustacea, they are indeed dairy-free and egg free and it was so good to eat once I opened the packaging myself during my midday snack treat at home. I couldn’t believe they have these having last tasted prawn chips a long time ago but now I can enjoy tasting them again in a different way that suits one’s dietary requirements/limitations thanks to Vege Chips.
Although I’m aware that Vege also released their new fusions Asian crisps range (one in Corn & the other in Vege), but don’t think this is for me since it has onion and some chillies & spices on it. I can’t wait to buy them again next time whenever possible including the BBQ pack which also suits me well likewise with their usual chips range every now & then. Make sure you try it for yourself if you’re able to find one at your local Coles supermarket store at a special price right now of $3.15.
Here’s some homemade tater tots/potato gems that you can make & enjoy to eat at home! First of all, grab 1-2 potatoes or one large size potato by peeling the skin off before you grate them until it’s all been shredded.
Then squeeze the excess water and starch out with a cloth/paper towel onto the sink and transfer these shredded potatoes into a bowl along with some flour & a few sprinkles of salt. Mix them up as you can your hands to split and shape these into a bunch of tiny potato balls before you rest these tater tots in the fridge or freezer for about an hour. Now it’s time to throw a bunch of tater tots that you’ve made from scratch onto the air fryer & make sure you cook them first at 190 degrees for 10 mins before you toss them to the other side & have it cooked again for another 5-6 mins. And once these tater tots have been cooled down for a while (like after 5-10 mins), these excellent tiny potato balls are ready to eat! Yum!!
They’re even a fantastic match as a side dish with the homemade pizza I’ve made for lunch yesterday alongside the tomato and avocado topping & also the homemade pizza sauce inside it with a mix of both tomato paste & tomato sauce!
Here’s a delicious homemade recipe that you can make at home in none other than air-fryer doughnuts that can serve up to four people, dairy & egg free and also without the need of a cutter too.
First of all, put 3/4 teaspoon of active dry yeast along with 1 tablespoon of warm water onto a bowl before you mix it up and cover it up for a while like 30 mins-1 hour. Then add 1 cup of flour as well as a 1/4 cup of warm rice milk, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 egg replacer, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or any type of oil you like & 3-4 teaspoons of sugar in order to form a dough that is coated by a few drops of oil. Repeat the same resting period of an hour to let the dough rise as you cut up into four pieces using a knife & roll it out after the 2nd resting process. From there, you can poke out a hole in the middle using your finger before you press it back onto the cutted dough while shaping out the perfect round circle shape of a doughnut. Once that is done, rest & cover these raw shaped doughnuts up one more time for 30 mins-1 hour before it’s cooking time.
You can fry it on a pan or put it in the oven but it’s best to place two doughnuts a time onto the air fryer and repeat the process same again for the last two at 180 degrees Celsius for 8-9 minutes. And once you cool these off for a while as long as you don’t eat it that hot, these homemade dairy-free doughnuts are ready to eat!! It’s so easy to make if these ready-made doughnuts off the supermarkets or the food courts aren’t for you and to make it extra yummy, you can top these up with chocolate spread or other coloured icing with sprinkles on it. Perfect snack to eat on an occasional day during the week!!
Taking a break from baking/making recipes today to enjoy a wonderful delicious snack from Vege Deli Crisps. It’s free from dairy, nuts & egg; Plus, it’s also healthy to eat as well whenever you need a little break throughout the day! Go try it as they’re available at your local supermarket such as Woolworths for a brilliant half price right now of $3.25!! Perfect timing to take advantage of this over the next week while these prices will last only for a limited time.
Here’s another dairy-free snack or topping you should try at home which is the Bio Cheese Cheedar flavour slices that I’ve brought off my local supermarket at Woolworths yesterday. Although it doesn’t have a health star rating, but it’s still healthy to eat with plenty of benefits being shown there. I’ve shredded one slice across two small pizzas earlier today during lunch and they taste really good, especially when it’s so perfect for those who are on a meat-free/vegan diet.
I could’ve also brought the ready-made shredded version as far I’m aware of, but you pair up see the dairy-free sliced pack beyond pizzas such as burgers/wraps/sandwiches, as well as biscuits, pasta, garlic bread & many more of your choice.
In terms of price, it can be a bit expensive at around the $6 mark but it’s still worth the weekly eating budget when looking to keep healthy or stay away from dairy. See it for yourself & make dairy-free cheese your own regular lunch or snack craving.
Here’s some awesome meat-free corn fritters that I brought off an independent supermarket the other day at IGA thanks to Bird’s Eye.
These corn fritters are nice & crispy on the outside, while they’re filled up with creamy corn kernels on the inside which gives a health star rating of 4. Although I find it really yummy and healthy, but it’s just a shame that they don’t sell these at major supermarkets like Coles & Woolworths since they’re not popular unlike the usual corn fritters that we see everywhere.
They match really well with these burgers/wraps alongside some potato puffs that I also brought the other day at IGA & they’re also healthy too with a similar star rating of 4 – how good is that for your next perfect lunch meal! It’s also perfect to see these potato puffs being dipped alongside some of your favourite sauce topping for parties & lunch or afternoon snacks.
I wish there is a recipe for this particular corn fritters where you can make them at home, especially for those who is allergic to dairy and eggs. However, if you can stop by a IGA or other independent supermarkets like Foodworks then see it for yourself as I hope you love it alongside these potato puffs as a side that you can cook at home.
If you want to taste mayo that is vegan, dairy free & even onion free, then you’re going to love this creamy sauce thanks to Celebrate Health.
They are a great match for burgers/sandwiches/wraps as well as chips and salads, especially when this kind of vegan mayo is mixed up with lemon which makes it an ideal healthy topping for your perfect side dish. And Here’s a picture below of my homemade air-fryer chips during lunch today on top of some dairy-free mayo.
Make sure you shake it well before use so you don’t spill out some beautiful mayo sauce. Plus, always store in the refrigerator once it’s opened & eventually finish consuming this product before the expiry date as labeled on the packaging.
I hope you loved it as much as I do & although they’re a bit more expensive, but it’s well worth your health during your morning, lunch or afternoon snack. You can go buy them for $6.30 at Woolworths, $5 at Coles & also various health shops online (be mindful that these shops cover some extra delivery costs as well).
