Wallabies may not be actual series winners but at least they finished off a difficult home tour on a high with the 2027 Rugby World Cup also at home the ultimate goal.

Joseph Suaalii always our reliable centre that the Wallabies were able to exploit on the outside 13 unlike Lions tonight.

Also impressed with Dylan Pietsch’s efforts on the wide left 11 with thanks to added game time this season at the Western Force & now he’s elevated his profile onto the big stage.

Not forgetting the consistent stealer, team leader and tough hustle and bustle by Will Skelton as well on the second row five.

More of the same cohesion and we could see more glorious days from there.

Wallabies physically tough on paper tonight and throughout the three Tests actually if it wasn’t for the slow first match and the controversial end from the 2nd one last week, they just need to keep the band going together and who knows?

We’ll find out very soon with the Rugby Championship around the corner in two weeks time starting with back-to-back matches v Springboks in South Africa and of course the Bledisloe Cup v All Blacks at the end of September-1st week October.

Lastly, love or hate him, Jac Morgan as reserve loose forward from Wales gave an ounce of hope every time he’s off the bench & goes after it if he dominates that board game called twister.

Sometimes the way the Lions selection looks kinda awkward plus wrong fighting (this ain’t boxing/UFC – wrong place, wrong time) and not much fire from the backs.

But again, they are still the series winners 2-1 along with 8/9 tour wins.

The final score was Wallabies 22-12 Lions at Accor Stadium in Homebush as said with Wallabies so physically dominant that includes an 8-0 lead at half-time, especially in extremely wet rainy conditions like this.

We also had a 30 min pause before they went back out again due to lightning which is similar to a red flag in NASCAR terms like the two recent Cup races even during that late in Stage 3 due to rain at Dover and Indianapolis.

Let’s hope we don’t see the same thing with the next Cup race at Iowa this Sunday/Monday morning here & Australia’s own Leigh Diffey is back in the booth since NBC is taking over the last 14 races now through championship season in November.

I had the chance to watch the Swimming Worlds a little also while the game was on hold and both Aussie Dolphins swimmers won individual gold during night 7 of 8 in Singapore with thanks to Cameron McEvoy (men’s 50m freestyle Final) and Kaylee McKeown (women’s 200m backstroke final).

Other than that with Lions being silly and dropping clangers except having a good scrambled defensive shape, it’s been great seeing them play as always including when they were on the accelerator right from the word go despite some poor long game tactics.

Would’ve loved to check things out on deck tonight regardless of the weather since this contest is really special once every 12 years.

Their next tour will be in New Zealand v All Blacks come 2029 but until next time, thank you Lions.
