Here’s a quick and easy way you can make that only costs a couple of dollars at home – it’s called the Woolworths Essentials (a well-known Australian supermarket brand) Vanilla/Chocolate cake mix – where you can buy it off your local grocery store at only $0.90 per pack.
All you have to do is follow the recipe procedure by mixing the dry and wet ingredients (do it gently with a spatula if you don’t have a hand/stand mixer & don’t mix it too much), and you’re good to go when placing it onto the pre-heated oven (make sure you pre-heat for five minutes at 180 degrees celsius prior to cooking) at 180-185 degrees Celsius.
Plus, don’t forget to smudge some oil around your cake tin beforehand (mine is a 7-inch version by the way from Bakemaster which fits the whole packet of 340 grams & you can buy it off Amazon here) while placing baking paper on the bottom of the pan when pouring the cake batter.
Depending on the time, cooking on an air fryer would be about 30 minutes while an oven would take you 40-45 minutes before completely cooling it down for a while, then you can do whatever you want with the cake by putting some frosting on top as it’s now all yours to eat.
Also, if you are on a dairy-free or plant-based diet, you can substitute 2/3 cup (160mL) of full cream milk with water or rice milk, as well as about 1/4 cup (50g) of apple sauce or make 2 egg replacer mixes rather than 2 eggs & three tablespoons (60g) of Maple Syrup or coconut oil instead of some butter.
