GH this week, 22-26 September 2025: One final goodbye for Monica

GH this week – We as a whole community from fanbase to writers that extends to characters/cast had the chance to send one last proper goodbye to our beloved Q’s family member, Dr. Monica Quartermaine.

Sure there were lots of memories both highs and lows along with Drew crashing her funeral in a wheelchair uninvited and so does Monica’s sister by surprise at the family crypt to finish off the week.

Also there’s many more like Outback being the Q’s family dog after she struggled to feel like she’s home when the original adopted owner was Emma Scorpio-Drake.

And the return of Nathan West that is something to do with Britt and her family. 

Sports Benches is the only place to look back the show’s weekly recaps on the Entertainment page here since Network 10 stopped airing episodes earlier this month at the time Season 62 went into Season 63. 

We also have weekly recaps of big time sport from Rugby Union to Netball including NASCAR, Premier League (Soccer) and the NFL: National Football League.

GH this week: Monica’s funeral

First of all, glad Tracy Quartermaine decided to speak in front of her loved ones after he kicked out Drew, having gone MIA to Atlantic City the other day in NJ.

Fortunately, Brook Lynn’s Ma Lois was able to track Tracy down when she’s been too busy drinking & betting poker games. 

Glad to see Rena Sofer back the other day on the show having moved back East lately as she’ll still be around the GH set over in Los Angeles whenever needed.

Also love that mother and daughter bond with that fairy floss candy they shared together. Let’s hope the Curellos can start fresh again and sure Gio can join in whenever the time is right as long as Lulu can stay civil with BLQ of course, having seen them feud for months until Maxie had an unexpected cardiac arrest by Sidwell.

Thought Tracy doesn’t want to be at the funeral when Monica deserves to still be alive after being there for all other Qs that sadly lost their lives early over the past 5-10 years. Had she completely decided not to pay tribute to her sister-in-law, that would’ve been the last thing she would regret by forgoing that decision herself. 

But glad she had the courage to pay her respects on behalf of this great family.

RIP Monica Quartermaine.

What happened to uninvited guest Drew Cain?

Wish Drew can come back to his old self if it wasn’t for being a congressman.

He first ruined his nephew’s marriage by stealing Willow off Michael then he went after Curtis and his family including Portia…the list goes on and on like Sonny Corinthos like trying to inherit Pier 55/56.

Even though he’s okay and is on a wheelchair for now after being shot in the back lately, it’s unlikely Drew will realise the damage control he’s actually done any time soon – unless someone somehow kicks him out of politics. However, him continuing that vendetta against his nephew Michael is just a ridiculous idea to get what he wants, as no wonder he wasn’t welcome at Monica’s funeral. 

Also, don’t mess with Martin Grey who just got his sexy back after what Drew did to his good friend Stella Henry lately or else he will pull his own stunts once again.

Remember, Drew doesn’t get a pass 100% unless he listens to Martin without back stabbing someone for revenge like he’s doing now to just Michael, and probably no one else like Curtis. Interestingly enough, we already know Portia was already through with her now ex-husband on the night he was with Jordan Ashford; but she’s also running away from trouble like Kristina when she’s also with Isaiah.

The return of the Wild West, Nathan West

For the first time since 2018, Nathan West is somehow alive again after his dad Cesar Faison shot him in the chest like twice – I wasn’t into GH back then.

But it’s still a relief though to see his sister Nina by his bedside and does Anna Devane watch Nathan wake up again. 

Now shoutout to Ryan Paevey who sounds like Michael Easton where Michael had been a huge part of GH for a long time through John McBain, Silas Clay and later Finn until last year.

Back to Nathan, I’m sure he will have unfinished business to get himself settled in with the son he hasn’t yet seen so far in his life, James Malcolm West. James was with his uncle Cody at the Qs stables where they will now spend more time playing animals from comet the horse to the Q’s much loved puppy Outback. 

Who can not forget the moment she ate Cody’s sandwich when she was all alone after running away from Rocco? 

She’d be great here for a long time.

Other than that, the tables now turn to Cesar Faison who we still don’t know if he’s stayed dead or alive either way – it’s unpredictable in soap opera life. Someone has allegedly left some medication attended to Britt Westbourne in her hotel room at Bobbie’s Diner. And it seems like Anders Hove would might as well come back to the set for a short spell maybe to find out what he’s really been up to as the overarching boss of Britt at the lab.

If not, someone working for Faison might be walking around somewhere to target both Britt and Nathan, watch this space.
